*Just the chapters on the movies I have seen, to avoid spoilers.

Another I attempted to read was Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs. The movie is one of my favorites, but I hadn't ever read the book. Unfortunately, I couldn't get through it. I tried a few times, but found it very difficult to follow. I applaud those who can get through it, hee.

I finished reading these two books a couple days ago:
Cunt: a Declaration of Independance by Inga Muscio
I Am an Emotional Creature by Eve Ensler

Both were amazing; I nearly read them both in one sitting. I've reserved the following at the local library, and I'll pick them up when they're available:

The Encyclopedia of Crystals by Judy Hall
The Good Body by Eve Ensler
The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler
Insecure at Last by Eve Ensler
He’s a Stud, She’s a Slut by Jessica Valenti
Self-Editing for Fiction Writers by Renni Brown and Dave King

Haven't posted here in a while! It's because I've been busy, busy writing characters. Ash and Hector (but especially [livejournal.com profile] asher_embry) are particularly vocal lately. I post for Ash one or two times a day, and he has lots of conversations with Lacroix, who belongs to my best friend.

This, essentially, is me lately:

Took a little break from writing here for family reasons (grandma was in the hospital, little brother has been pretty sick), but am back now! Here's a picture in the meantime:

Finished Ash's profile last night, so I'm quite pleased with myself.

I still have to work out his voice, but it's a weight off me to know that his profile is at least finished. And Jessi worked in a way for Corbin and Ash to have met before, so that was awesome. Connections are good.

How an author should not act - Wow, I can't believe the author's response in the comments here. So unprofessional!

I'm about halfway finished with Ash's profile! Hopefully I can get that finished tonight.

Nearly finished a 1,200 word page that is required writing for Asher.

Still working on his voice! That's my main goal for today, deciding how to differentiate his voice from that of my other characters. Lots of my characters have really defining voices (Hector's, Vince's, Zander's, Bastien's, and Desmond's are pretty unmistakable in my opinion), so the challenge is to find a different direction to go with Asher's, heh.

Back to work!

My plans for editing were derailed by the sudden impulse to create a brand-new character. But I'm not beating myself up over it, because it is an OC and I can work him into later stories if need be. I've given him a connection with Vince to start him out, and that'll make it easier to work him into various storylines.

I compiled a small list of books I want to read for research for him, and unfortunately I can't get any of them at the library. It's always a little disheartening when none of the books on a wishlist are available at the library - and not just not available, but not even in the system. Ah, well.

I've compiled all of new guy's PB pictures, made his journal and icons, and have made placeholder posts for a few pages I need to write. His userinfo is set up completely, and for now, I've decided to keep his journal completely friends-only.

Hopefully I'll make some significant progress on him tonight!

I'm off to print a short story of mine that's about finished at about 5,700 words so I can start the first revision. For whatever reason, it's easier for me to edit my own work when it's printed, but I have no problem editing others' work on the computer. Recently, I've edited the first few scenes of a script-in-progress for a local group doing a horror host show - however, one of their members was recently booted, so I'm not sure if script too will be thrown away. Will have to wait and see!
