The end of one journey can be the start of another. Some cutting tools can be reconditioned several times, extending their working life and helping manufacturers get more from every tool. When reconditioning is no longer possible, or for tools that aren't suitable for reconditioning, our recycling programme helps ensure valuable materials don't go to waste. In episode four of our reconditioning series, Daniel Jansson (swemachinist) and Seco Head of Reconditioning, Ruud Zanders, explain how the Seco recycling programme helps recover valuable materials so they can be put to use again, rather than going to waste. It's another way we're helping manufacturers make the most of every tool, from its first cut to its final cycle. ▶️ Watch the latest episode to learn more, and discover our recycling programme here: https://ow.ly/pwQt50ZvKq3

  • What happens when you combine high feed milling with the right machining strategy? This demonstration shows a solid workpiece, inspired from a V12 engine block, using High Feed SP, combining roughing, pocket milling and multiple machining operations into one efficient process. While this reel is just a snapshot, the full video takes a closer look at the machining strategy and performance behind the result. 🎥 Watch the full video on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/dAXqusJk

Every worn tool tells a story. AI helps us understand it. Reconditioning is about more than restoring cutting tools, it's about understanding them. In episode three of our reconditioning series, Daniel Jansson (swemachinist) and Seco Head of Reconditioning, Ruud Zanders, take a closer look at how AI supports the reconditioning process. By creating a detailed 3D point cloud of every tool, Seco can accurately identify wear patterns, assess their condition and make informed decisions throughout the reconditioning process. The result? Greater precision, consistent quality and more value from every tool. ▶️ Watch the latest episode to see how AI is helping give cutting tools a second life, and follow us so you don't miss the next instalment in the series.

Every cutting tool has a story. Reconditioning helps write the next chapter. Reconditioning doesn't have to be complicated. It's a smarter way to get more from every tool, reduce waste and keep valuable resources working for longer. In episode two of our reconditioning series, Daniel Jansson (Swemachinist) and Seco Head of Reconditioning, Ruud Zanders, explains what exactly happens when you want to recondition your worn or chipped tools. From collection and inspection through to reconditioning and return, every step is designed to make the process as simple and seamless as possible, so you can keep your tools in use for longer and get them back into production with confidence. ▶️ Watch the latest episode to see how the process works, and follow us so you don't miss the next instalment in the series.

A second life starts here. ♻️ Swemachinist on Tour begins with a closer look at reconditioning, not simply as a way to extend tool life, but as a smarter way to use the tools and resources we already have. In episode one, Daniel Jansson joins Seco Head of Reconditioning, Ruud Zanders, to explore how worn tools can be restored to reliable performance, helping manufacturers reduce waste, lower costs and get more value from every tool. ▶️ Watch the first episode and follow us for more reconditioning insights throughout the series. • As Maria Blomqvist highlights, sustainability is about more than ambition, it's about the actions we take every day to support our customers, our industry and the future of manufacturing. From improving efficiency and circularity to reducing emissions, we are committed to helping manufacturers create more value while using fewer resources.

What does leadership in manufacturing look like today? For me, it is about creating more value while using fewer resources. That is the mindset shaping how we think about the future of manufacturing at Seco. Sustainability is not a separate initiative. It is a way to drive innovation, competitiveness, and long-term value. I am grateful to everyone who contributes to this journey. By leading the discovery of the future together, we can create lasting value for our customers, our people, and our industry. Curious to hear your perspective.

  • Most square shoulder milling problems don't start at the machine, they start with tool selection. Chatter. Poor surface finish. Chip jamming. Short tool life. Inaccurate 90° shoulders. The good news? Many of these challenges can be avoided by asking the right questions before machining begins. Explore how machinists like you can approach them in a practical way: https://lnkd.in/eA5DhtB4

Every milling problem has a history that started long before the machine spindle started running. Most discussions about square shoulder milling start when something goes wrong: vibrations, broken tools, poor surface finish or short tool life. What if the real challenge is not solving these problems, but preventing them before they appear? ➡️ Join us as we explore how tooling decisions, machining strategy and process organisation influence stability, productivity and profitability long before the spindle starts turning.

Production excellence starts in strategy, is shaped by engineering, and proven daily by the operator at the machine - where everything comes together or gaps are exposed. On the shopfloor, operators make constant decisions on process control, variation, and stability. Consistent performance depends on judgement, disciplined execution, and structured feedback. When issues arise, machines reveal them. In this fourth session of our 5-part series, we focus on this moment of truth: where decisions meet real conditions. Because what was defined by management, and transformed by engineering, must be executed, and sustained, by the operator.
