Last Weeks Sewing

Last was crazy busy. I started Cardiac Rehab, so I'm going to that 3 days a week and not getting a lunch hour. It sure cuts into my prepping time for sewing. Sara sent me these yellow and blue strips to use in an SDSU quilt I am working on for a friend. I had sent her some Tula strips and scraps for her quilt.
Mik is taking swimming lessons, so I have about 30 minutes to sew. I made a few hexie flowers last week.

Monday night I finished up the Harper Holdall Tote, a pattern by Lazy Girl Designs. The back side is fabric with Decor Bond.
The front side is a piece I quilted of Soft and Stable. I had a chunk where the backing flipped up and I couldn't use it for other bags, but since this has a lining, it worked perfectly.
Handles are Decor Bond as well. It's become my gym bag for Cardiac Rehab.
I spent 2 nights making this sew-together bag with Pinkerville. The unicorns are in both sides of the open pockets. I love how it turned out.

I'm really pleased with how the bags turned out and this week I hope to focus on piecing.

Weekend Sewing

This weekend was bitterly cold in the Black Hills of SD. It never reached above 0 for a high. I made this Let's Play Hearts runner by Atkinson Designs using L'amour fabric by Sandy Gervais for Moda. This fabric is 11+ years old as I made my first hexie quilt out of it.
I spent quite a bit of time on Sunday sewing the diamonds into the edges to give me a place to cut out the fabric so I can add binding. I was so proud of myself for adding the extra two rows at the end, until I realized the two hexies in the center bottom are white instead of cream.
See the white standing out? Luckily I had the cream grunge with the other fabrics from this line, so I was able to cut new fabric and re-use the hexies. I finished sewing them on and then removed all the  papers while the Daytona 500 was on. It was a perfect way to enjoy my birthday, doing English Paper Piecing with my family.
My dad's quilt from his grandma was in the quilting room, so I took a picture to show his cousin. She said she got a quilt from their grandma with butterflies too. Quilting ran in both sides of my family.

Friday

Friday I laid out my Everyday Handmade Hexie project. I wasn't sure how many more I needed to make, so I wanted to try laying it out. This is going together nicely, but I have quite a few more white hexie flowers to do before I am ready to put it together.
Hubby got me some wonderful flowers for my birthday and Valentine's Day.
My best friend from college sent me a really cool magnet frame and these awesome Jackrabbint magnets. It was packaged in the best blue and yellow ribbons too. Go Jacks!
Mikaela wanted to make me a zippered pouch, so she picked purple fat quarters and a purple zipper. We used the Purse Nickities pattern by Lazy Girl Designs.
I used the ByAnnie Lola pencil case pattern to make a case from my Arrival fabric that I had already had quilted. I had to make it a bit smaller for the piece of fabric I had, but it worked really well.

Bailey is growing quickly. She's 25lbs and 3 months old. She got her 3rd shot on Friday.

January Sewing

My quilting friend Linda had her daughter-in-law make these beautiful cookies for me. She used the Tula Pink fabric below as the inspiration.

Monday was a holiday, so I was able to quilt these two table runners. They are Desert Stars by Atkinson Designs
I also quilted this minkee blanket for Mikaela for her birthday. I just quilted it with loops and it quilted up BEAUTIFULLY!! I couldn't have had a better day quilting.
Here's the table runners as I got them made. They are a custom order for a gal I know from back home.

I have been working on hexie diamonds to make a quilted table runner. I got these finished and have started on the white hexies. It's going together surprisingly fast.
I made Mikaela some new, bigger masks with nose pieces. She really likes them.

New UFO's this year

I worked on quite a few projects in 2020 that haven't been completed. I got all the pieces made for the 2019 Quiltville Mystery quilt, but haven't put them together yet.

I worked on and finished all these hexie flowers. I just determined a layout, so I'm working on the setting diamonds now.
I finished this Jacobs Ladder mini top.
I quilted a bunch of this unicorn fabric to make a couple bags. I have them cut out, but not made yet.
I'm using my leftover pieces from Glamping Gypsies to make a Toni quilt.
I made these 2 Cabin Fever baby quilts and they are both Glamping Gypsy fabric.

I made this sweetheart table topper for a coworker for his wedding. I need to get it finished.
I started the blocks for Swoon 16, but only got 2 made.
I did the Hope Quilt along and have all the blocks made.
I made this mini Moda love quilt and it just needs quilting.

I did the Elvira quilt along and Trappor quilted it for me, but I need to bind it.
I am doing the #journey2Nebula quilt along and this is the Lucky Charm pillow top.
I spent about 5 hours the other day working on this table topper and it's finally coming along.
I have quite a few things going, but I work on whatever I feel like.
