You do so much for others
Without hesitation in your heart
Never judging their chosen path
Showing unconditional compassion
Always with kindness in your eyes

Your radiance sparkles of love
Flowers turn to you as their sun
The hardest of hearts begin to weep
Cascading down into your hands
Then tossed to the sky to float away

Humanity is blessed to have you
A hero of heroes without a cape
Your pulsating love is felt in my heart
And I sleep better at night knowing
That people like you live in the world

Together

Great days and moods seem like dreams
the feeling of being so light I could fly
reaching for the pinnacle so high above
breaking the barrier that is the sky

A flash of reality wakes me out of the dream
feeling the endless rains of fear and misery
the futility of trying to fly underwater
wishing to be in my dreams for eternity

Some days the rains are harder than others
I ponder my existence throughout the downpours
enveloped in the bone chilling cold of sadness
beginning to see the darkness of deaths front door

A quiet whisper from my soul is then heard
just before I enter the tunnel of endless night
my heart begins to pump with a new vigor
telling me to never give up the fight

I look to others soaked by the same rain
extending the warm hand of blind compassion
the links of selfless love spreads worldwide
together we build a foundation everlasting

The fire of hearts connected lights the sky
as the rains of fear and misery dissipate
together is the only way the rains stay away
we fly as a flock unburdened by any weight

Clouds float on by overhead with
the elegance of a feather trying
to find a place to land across
the skies above

I feel the presence of a swaying leaf
nearby as a subtle breeze
describes the scene with
the gentleness of the
touch of love

Dandelion wishes catch a ride on the
wind in hopes to be granted
their most earnest dreams
coming from the heart

My being swells of light like the moon
and stars beaming the radiance
of wholeness in the presence
of natures art

Joy erupting in the fluttering of
butterflies strumming the
strings of love deep
within my spirit

The tingling of true happiness rising
into the virtues of limitless
compassion drawing me
closer near it

My heart beats with passion as I find
myself closer to the sanctuary
between the past and future
to this place I call home

Finally reaching my destination
christened by the tear drops
of my soul I arrive to rest
at the greatest place I
have ever known

Elysium Streams

Many miles I have walked on
scorching sands and over
snowy windy peaks

Searching for the path to find
a home where my soul can rest
in everlasting peace

Where abundance becomes a burden
for one but is a true blessing
for all

Auras of different shades mingle
to make the most beautiful
colors between winter
and fall

Where peace becomes not the goal
but the essence of how life
is lived

Where our measure is earned not on
how much we have but how much
we give

Oh how I yearn to walk these golden
plains on the fields of my most
passionate dreams

My soul will lead the way as my
heart remains thirsty until
quenched in the waters
of elysium streams

Our Mother

Lifetimes of apologies will never be enough
to heal the scars inflicted on you
without your consent

Your body has been the battlefield to endless
wars as I hear the screams of your wounds
muffled underneath cement

The fog of war has been your veil so long you
have forgot what it is like to see your
own beautiful face

Bombs and bullets with no names continue
to fly overhead heralding the fire of
destruction as we struggle to find
a safe hiding place

Fossil fuels that fill bottomless pockets
of greed bring forth your tears that
were once healing now turned
to acid rain

There is no way I could ever fathom what you
have gone through as you still support
life here throughout your pain

All I can do is plant seeds of compassion in your
nurturing soil in the hopes that one day down
the ladder of time it fills the void
in your heart

I promise to be the best version of a human being
with actions of love as a vow in your honor
to care for you like you have always done
for me from the very start

Infinite Era Of Compassion

The storms of tragedy rages through
the world as we slowly drown in
the ashy rain

Minds consumed by losses unexpected
as we stand in the puddle of
sorrow in this loveless pain

Tears run down my cheeks as I feel the
vivid pain of the world resting
heavy on my heart

My tear drops join the others down at
my feet as I sense the world
tragically falling apart

The unequivocal darkness of ego and
greed rule this world shading us
in its paralyzing dark
of night

As more and more evil deeds done to
others and the world adds more
darkness to the worlds
dying light

There comes a time in all our lives
when enough is enough and today
is that day

The fire deep in our hearts combust
in compassion as the flame of
love lights our way

When the flames spread throughout
the world uniting all into one
burning light of love
in action

The warmth of love will dry the eyes
of the world beyond the tables
of time into the infinite
era of compassion

Never Lacking

Inside a void in ourselves waits
for an answer to it’s call

A hole inside that slows living
to a lifeless crawl

No material thing can be purchased
to fill this hollow void

How can we fill this hole to bring
us an immense amount of joy

It’s not what can be bought but
what can be done

The hole will stay empty even
if you own everything under
the sun

Dipping in the endless well of
compassion is a good way
to start

Simple acts of kindness to strangers
will aid the thirst of the heart

The trickles of life begin soothing
the dry empty hole drop by drop

A feeling starts to rise that can
never be bought

As the void fills with these heavenly
rains of compassion

The world seems brighter with our
hearts overflowing with passion

A new zest fills the air as we dance
to the moonlight of our soul

A sense of freedom comes over us as
the material world has lost it’s control

As we find ourselves whole reveling in
the joy of life living and laughing

Feeling lighter than air enjoying a
life of never lacking

My Wishes

There are many things I wish
to see

One of those is a world free
of poverty

Where no human being will starve
in the streets

Having a place at all tables to
rest and eat

A world full of clean air to
fill our lungs

Where smog is a distant memory
over and done

To see all things respected from
all walks of life here on this earth

We all deserve the same equality
from the moment of our birth

A wish to see a united humanity
striving for the advancement of all

Instead of waging war on each other
watching other human beings cripple
and fall

Wishing the end of the crushing hate
of power and greed

Replaced by compassion and love only
doing noble deeds

Now I watch my wishes float away like
a dandelion carried by the winds of
hope

As I yearn for the day a granter of
wishes will catch it in their scope

The Domino Effect Of Compassion

Walking down the street observant
to my surroundings taking in the
sights and sounds

I see a simple act of generosity as I
watch a young boy help an elderly
woman get up off the ground

Others passed by staring at their
phones but aware enough to step
over and by

This one young boy stopped and didn’t
hesitate to help which brought a tear
to the woman’s eye

He made sure things were okay and she
thanked him as he set off elated on
his way

As I kept watching this act of
kindness I knew this was a different
kind of day

Then I see the elderly woman stop to
buy a cup of something hot and frothy

She noticed a cold homeless man sitting
against the wall and decided to buy him
a hot steaming cup of coffee

He looked up at her like a young boy
that had received the greatest gift
on Christmas day

His cold dark look at life was warmed
instantly as she smiled and walked away

The man stood up warm inside with a
light that swelled in his heart and
shined through his eyes

He looked up and thanked god for this
elderly woman who he thought must have
been an angel in disguise

As he walks down the street he sees
what could be a start of a fight

A couple bullies surround a young boy with
no way out the fear in his eyes a
most terrible sight

So the man immediately steps in as a
guardian to help the young little boy

The bullies flee the scene as despair
is released now filled with excitement
and joy

I notice the familiarity of him as
I take a closer look

What I see in front of my very own
eyes has me shocked and shook

It’s the very same boy that helped
the elderly woman rise to her feet

An epiphany comes over me as I think
about the day and find myself a seat

A young boys selfless kind action starts
off an irreversible chain reaction

I have just witnessed the power of
the domino effect of compassion

A Shining Star Within Us All

In our hearts dwell a shining star

The celestial essence of who we are

A single star among many others that shine so bright

Just like the stars we see in the evening night

We walk this earth with others that share the same

A reflection of the universe from which we came

These stars keep us warm in the coldest of days

Keeping our spirits high when tragedy has it’s way

It gives strength to those who are oppressed and weak

Giving voices to those who dare not speak

This power of which has always been inside

Once we discover it we will no longer hide

Compassion and love is the result when it’s found

Keeping us humble and always on solid ground

No matter the size we are in life big or small

We all have a shining star within us all

A World Full Of Lit Candles

There is a candle that lives in us all

Sitting dormant through the winter spring summer and fall

Awaiting to be lit by the flaming light of love

Giving and compassion are what the flame is made of

Once the candle is lit it shall be passed

On to the next until the very last

Then one day we will all share the same burning light

A legion of lit candles that light up the darkest night

All united basking in one single flame

Eternal is it’s measure love and compassion it’s aim

Never to be extinguished even by the harshest of winds

It stays lit even when it sways and bends

The icy frigid cold of hate would deem it too hot to handle

As it melts away and all is left is a world full of lit candles

A feeling that hides but it is always there

To reveal itself when I am open and aware

From noble deeds to be seen to the majestic words that are written

And the sounds to be heard raining down emotion on my soul with my hearts permission

Coming from everywhere and often times from nowhere

Reminding me that I still have a beating heart that still loves and still cares

I treasure these moments because it shows me I am alive

My heart beating with purpose and the tears of compassion that fills my eyes

A spark that lights my fire deep inside

Lighting up the darkness it no longer hides

Waiting in the dark corner it yearns to be found

Sitting patiently safe and sound

Revealing itself it sits in plain sight

A place we inherited since the time of our birth

What would you do II

” If there was something you could do or give that everyone can benefit from and that nobody could make money on, what would it be? “

I have asked this question to a few people and it was amazing what their answers were. I told each of them to sit and think about the question carefully for a few minutes and then give me their thoughts. Their answers were almost identical in which they all replied with saying compassion with love coming next. This to me was a very profound moment, because it told me that their answer came from their heart, not their brain to come up with this conclusion. They didn’t over think it or even came across not being too sure about it. Their answer was absolute without any kind of wavering thought of otherwise.

What they all have in common though is that they live life, they live in the moment of the very minuscule of a second and absorb things like experiencing it for the very first time over and over again, appreciating and respecting everything around them as a gift of life. This life they live was not taught to them but experienced by them to see things their heart and soul really sees. Some of the things that were being said coincide with the great philosophers of times past without even reading any of the material. Their answer came from within, not outside of them which is where we think we can find the answers to all of life’s questions.

These answers came when they stop living in the speed of life and starting living with the speed of themselves. Living life with integrity not longevity. When living in this way, giving and helping is automatic, like a reflex to the senses that sees a beautiful flower that you are in awe of. A feeling you can’t help but to act upon, overwhelming joy and happiness consume you and you know of no other way. It’s really not hard to show and give compassion and love to one another, even with the simplest things like smiling at someone who looks like they are having a really bad day can change their attitude and outlook. That person may do the same for others and things go in a domino effect from there naturally. Compassion is my answer to that question as well. What is yours?
