When Winter Lets go

Beneath the pale frozen horizon
A single bloom steadily rises
Its fragile petals kissed of white
Holding the memory of winter's goodbye

The wind exhales a roaring chill
Brushing the stem with a fleeting sigh
It stands tall against all odds
Breathing light as a star beneath the sky

When morning releases ice from a weary land
The blossom reveals celestial colors touched by sun
Dew drifts upon the air of winter's last breath
Droplets say goodbye signaling winter is done
