Universal workflow aiming at providing in just minutes,
a very accurate camera line-up, no matter its reference, optic model, or type of tracking system in use!
Discover how CalibFX® Lineup takes advantage of Miraxyz’s proven computer vision techniques to ensure accurate alignment and spatial consistency for any tracked camera: whether optical or mechanical-based tracking, our solver promises a universal workflow for computing offsets!
Why camera Lineup is so important?
While manual offsets measurement using a tape measure or laser remains still feasible; accurately estimating all tiny rotations in degrees can be quite challenging for any camera operator!
This manual process remains time-consuming and often yields satisfactory results from a specific viewpoint.
However, when the camera does transition to a different perspective, some spatial shifts may reappear, undermining the consistency of the effect …
This is why we have developed CalibFX® Lineup!
Achieving pixel perfection for the image compositing that embeds the virtual layer often requires the operator to finely adjust its camera tracking system by measuring the offset distance in between the tracking sensor or marker and the camera’s CCD sensor, thus, while correctly aligning the tracking origin point of the stage with such a camera set.
Using our tag-based cube calibrator (available as either premium aluminum-made version or standard cardboard-made version) that user places on stage’s origin reference and captured by the camera from multiple viewpoints, CalibFX® Lineup combines the live Freed tracking data flow with an accurate lens profile generated by our patented lens profiler, into a computer vision-based solver: the recorded data is then automatically computed to deliver accurate alignment and spatial consistency.
Offsets computing now effortless
Without CalibFX® Lineup
Usually, the operator has to measure its camera offsets manually with a ruler. Not only this method takes more time to complete but it also remains not accurate enough to obtain precise line-up.
Now with CalibFX® Lineup
Using our intelligent solver combined with our cube calibrator promise to not only save efforts, yet the combination also guarantees to achieve the highest precision at the millimeter grade.
Achieve accurate referential for your stage...
The Referential Offset Transform is the offset of the tracking referential in the cube referential.
It can be used to:
– define a new origin in a better location
– share the same origin across multiple systems
– refine the tracking referential to match perfectly a virtual object on the real world
... And precise camera Line-up
CalibFX® Lineup aims at automatically measuring two distinct offsets in between:
– the sensor plane of your camera and the tracker (Camera transform)
– the origin point of the studio and your camera (Device transform)
One solution for all camera devices
Mechanical-based camera configurations
Compute your camera offsets on any mechanical-tracked setups such as telescopic cranes, motorized arms, robots, horizontal/vertical sliders, tracked dollies, jibs, cable cams, etc…
FreeD-compatible PTZs and P/T heads
Like any regular ENG/EFP studio cameras, CalibFX® Lineup can be used to achieve precise line-up on your PTZ and Pan/Tilt heads, thus, as long as your device is FreeD compatible.
6DOF hand-held cameras and steadicams
For common camera configurations achieving 6DOF/free camera moves, CalibFX® Lineup is the perfect companion to both quickly and precisely compute the desired offsets in just minutes.
Step I – Reference pictures of the face tags are taken
Take pictures of our cube calibrator object as this one has been previously positioned at the exact origin point of your studio.
Note: the optic has been profiled prior in using our CalibFX® Lens software for lens calibration (available separately).
Step II – The origin point is detected
CalibFX® Lineup automatically detects the cube calibrator’s exact position in space by identifying its tags in real-time: the positional information is immediately sent back to the solver.
Step III – The offset data is automatically computed
The various offset distances and camera transforms are processed into the solver, in just a matter of few seconds!
The offset information is now displayed into the interface, ready to get copied.
Step IV – Data is now ready for export
The offset values being properly computed, these can now be reported into any of your Freed-compatible tracking device, such is EZtrack here!
Congratulations: you can now enjoy a very accurate line-up for your tracking setup!

Questions & Answers
Can I use CalibFX® Lineup with any tracking device?
Yes! As long as your tracking device does use and is compatible with the Freed protocol to transmit positional tracking data.
What will I need to operate the solution?
To operate CalibFX® Lineup, you need one active software license, our calibration cube, one Win64 compatible PC or laptop, as well as one optic for which one proper lens profile has been edited prior with our CalibFX® Lens workflow being available in the CalibFX® Suite Bundle or separately as a single license purchase.
