Summary of Business

ITOKO was founded in 1931 as a manufacturer of white fabric for kimono.
We has also contracted with domestic silk farmers, and was the first company in Japan to brand the entire process from cocoons and raw silk to silk fabrics under the unified trademark "Matsuoka-hime" (Princess Matsuoka), which is highly regarded in the kimono industry.
Since 2012, We has been developing the "Silk Glass" business, an interior decoration material that proposes the world of silk to modern spaces. Through longtime collaboration with traditional craftsmen in Kyoto, we has applied the kimono technique to interior decoration materials.
The power of traditional patterns, such as prayers for good health and good fortune, and modern elements are incorporated and used in modern spaces.
Our in-house designers can create original patterns according to the motif of each project. We offer various types of silk glass, silk shoji screens, panels and silk noren curtains
that express the handiwork of traditional craftsmen and are fused with industrial technology.
