The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.
-1 Timothy 2:1-2 MSG
So we just had election day (Nov 8th), and though I’m hardly much into politics, this presidential election even had me uneasy and maybe even a little sick to my stomach. I’m a little disappointed considering this was the first presidential election I could finally vote in (jus missed the 18-year-old mark last time). However, despite our questionable options and fragile hope, we should still pray for our government leaders. Yes, that includes our near future president. The Bible instructs us to always pray for those who rule over us, no matter who they are, and pray that they rule wisely so that we can live peacefully. Since complaining won’t do anything (or maybe even make things worse), praying is the action we should take.
