12 Reasons why Life is Good (even if doesn’t seem so)
Life is never perfect. It’s never always great either. Perhaps hardly good, at least in your opinion. Here’s one good thing about life: you’re entitled to that opinion. If you say life isn’t good, well alright then. If you say so. But perhaps I can slightly change your opinion…
- You’re reading this. You know what that means? You have a computer, you have internet, you have the money to have the computer and internet, and you have the time to spend on the internet. Isn’t that good?
- You’ve got a friend here. Hello, that’s me. Maybe I don’t know you personally, but I can be a friend if you’d like.
- A sunrise and sunset is never not beautiful. Isn’t it extraordinary how we can see these things hundreds of times but still be in awe?
- Books. Unless you’re not the reading type, then…
- Stories that help us escape. If that means a book or a TV show or a movie franchise or a video game, then there you go. It’s something that lets you escape the world for just a little while.
- Music that makes us dance and sing. Music soothes the savage beast.
- The oncoming of Fall. We all know what that means: pumpkin spice lattes, scarves and boots, fuzzy socks in the house, the exscuse to have a warm fire on, snowy photoshoots, days off due to weather, etc.
- Those days off. Whether it is weather-induced or not. Don’t waste them!
- The opportunities are there. Can you see them? You have to go looking. You might think there’s nothing left for you, but have you even tried?
- Guilty pleasures. You know what it is.
- Coffee and tea. And if you don’t drink either…well, you probably have an alternative (although I hope it’s not soda…).
- This too shall pass. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.” Nothing will be forever, and that’s what makes life good.

The Stories of People
There is joy in the glitter
While there is doubt in the plain.
They rejoice in the splendid
And fear the mundane.
They make the magnificent stories
Worthwhile to read,
While there are simpler stories about,
In much greater need
To be known amongst all,
For these are the stories
That tell the stories of people;
The drudgeries of life,
The works of the feeble.
Too often we seem
To notice the gold,
When there is so much more worth
In the stories that told
Of the people that suffered,
Or maybe did nothing at all.
These stories said something:
Some rise, some fall.
Life isn’t perfect,
That’s what these stories tell.
They remind us that there is heaven,
And there is hell.

My Top 5 favorite things in D.C.
There are plenty of things in D.C. and Arlington that I love, but there were a few special things that stood out among the rest. Here are my top 5:
The Library of Congress. Hands down my absolute favorite building in D.C. I could keep coming back here again and again.
The WWII Memorial. This memorial quickly became my go-to spot when I wanted to chill and enjoy the lovely weather. Or people watch 🙂
Arlington Cemetery. I have a beautiful memory here. I got to watch, from a distance, an elderly man place a bouquet of flowers at a grave and quietly pay respects to it. There was a story there, a beautiful mystery, and I keep thinking about it.
Autumn. This kind of autumn doesn’t exist in Texas. So beautiful…
Snow on Thanksgiving! Nothing like waking up and looking out the window to see a flurry of snow! For me, who has never seen such a sight in her life, it was magic come to life.
Bonus: Old Town Alexandria. I could live here quite happily ^_^
