SUPERALGOS PROJECT

Superalgos is ready for AI Agents, and viceversa!

The speed at which AI agents are advancing is nothing short of thrilling. Just recently, I took a look into OpenClaw (former Clawdbot, AKA Moltbot) and its eye-in-the-sky extension, Computer Universal Automation (CUA), and it struck me. This combo is virtually ready to supercharge our platform!

I’m talking about local, open-source agents that can truly interact with your computer — scanning screens, spawning nodes, editing files, running commands — all through simple prompts. It’s like handing over the keyboard to a Superalgos power user and having them do the hard work for you!

The vision model in CUA reminded me of Alan Parsons’ Eye in the Sky!

I am the eye in the sky looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don’t need to see any more to know that
I can read your mind (Looking at you)

OpenClaw is your go-to open-source AI agent, installed locally with a quick curl command and integrated into chat apps like Telegram or Discord for seamless interaction. You may give it full filesystem access (think hard about the risks — sensitive data could be exposed if something goes wrong; consider running it in an isolated deployment) to execute shell commands, control browsers, and manage tasks with scheduling.

Powered by large language models, it reasons step-by-step: you prompt it, it plans, acts, and iterates. Its skills system lets you teach reusable behaviors — via prompts or code — that can be hot-reloaded and shared on GitHub. Community skills are already out there for things like automation chains or app-specific tweaks.

CUA elevates it with real computer-use smarts: it grabs screenshots, applies OCR and vision models to parse visuals (think our node hierarchies and charts), and handles mouse/keyboard actions precisely.

Together, OpenClaw drives the logic while CUA tackles the UI, all offline and private — no cloud calls required.

Have the Thing Learn Superalgos

Before you start asking it to build strategies or debug sessions, the single most powerful thing you can do is teach OpenClaw how Superalgos works, hands-on, the same way every new human user does:

Point the agent to the Superalgos Grokipedia page for an overview.

Open Superalgos and run the full interactive First Steps Tutorials (Welcome series) in front of the agent. Let it follow along: clicking nodes, dragging through the canvas, expanding hierarchies, fiddling with scales on charts, starting data mining tasks, running the demo backtest, etc. Let the agent do the rest of the tutorials — step by step, performing every action.

Feed the agent the entire documentation: point it to https://superalgos.org/Docs/Foundations/Book/user-manual.shtml, and let it build internal knowledge.

For deeper mastery, have it clone the Superalgos repo locally and read the source code — starting with core files in Projects/Foundations, the task server, node definitions, charting engine, and trading bot logic. It can even ask clarifying questions about how the platform parses JSON hierarchies or evaluates formulas on each candle.

Let it learn how to build indicators and their plotters by studying existing examples.

Once it has gone through this full onboarding (which might take a few focused sessions), it should gain a genuine, context-rich understanding of the platform’s architecture, UI patterns, node types, visual feedback mechanisms, and execution flow. From that point forward, every prompt you give becomes far more accurate and useful: the agent isn’t guessing; it’s operating from first-hand “experience.”

Brainstorming Superalgos Workflows

Conversational strategy building: “Start with the Weak-hands Buster demo on BTC/USDT. Let’s change how it manages the position. I want a laddered exit that will minimize the risk of the trade flipping on us. Run a backtest and come back to me with the results, comparing it with the default settings.” The agent does some research online, proposes a specific logic to manage the stop, goes to the workspace, spawns the required nodes, writes formulas for each condition, runs the backtest, and gets back to you with a report.

Debugging strategies and inconsistencies: “Check why this backtest is throwing errors in the close stage”. It runs the backtest, scans the error and feedback layers, checks the trading engine, discovers the cause of the error, and proposes a fix for the Close Stage conditions.

Automated backtesting and optimization: “Generate variants of this EMA crossover strategy: test 9/21, 12/26, and 20/50 periods; run backtests on 1y historical data from Binance; compare Sharpe ratios and drawdowns.” It creates clones, configures sessions, launches via CLI, and summarizes results, pulling from logs and visual layers.

Data mining and indicator exploration: “Fetch 6 months of ETH volume data, build a custom two-standard-deviation Bollinger Bands indicator bot, connect it to my strategy, and plot it on the 4h chart.” It clones an existing BB indicator, changes the code to implement the altered math, runs it, and so on…

Porting of strategies and indicators: “Study this Pine Script code and port it to Superalgos.” By now, I’m sure you get my drift…

Give it a Shot!

This isn’t future tech; while still a bit green in some areas, it’s deployable today, free of charge!

If you haven’t yet, grab OpenClaw, layer on CUA from the trycua GitHub, fire up Superalgos, and start the onboarding process!

Share your prompts, skills, or breakthroughs in the Community groups! Let’s crowdsource the best ways to integrate this into the platform itself!

Who knows? Maybe one day users may install the Superalgos platform with a fully-trained agent and enjoy the best-ever AI-powered trading infrastructure! One day, your boys may want to show off their trading log on Moltbook and bring like-minded agents into the Superalgos community!

Superalgos + OpenClaw + CUA: The Ultimate AI Trading Powerhouse was originally published in Superalgos | Algorithmic Trading on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

SUPERALGOS PROJECT

The Superalgos Community at a Crossroads

If you’ve been with Superalgos for some time, you know these recaps are my way of pausing amid the chaos — reflecting on the road we’ve traveled, the bumps we’ve hit, and the horizons ahead.

Back when we kicked this off in 2017, the crypto world was all fireworks and ICO frenzy, but we chose a different path: building quietly, sustainably, on open-source principles that echo Bitcoin’s roots. No hype, no quick riches — just a meritocratic system rewarding real value creation.

Fast-forward through crypto winters and bull runs, and here we are in early 2026, wrapping up a couple of quieter years. Let’s unpack what’s happened, where we stand, and what might come next.

The Lead Dev’s Shift: Echoes of Satoshi

First things first: Luis Fernando Molina, our lead developer and the mastermind behind so much of Superalgos’ architecture, has “moved on to other things.” If that sounds familiar, it’s a deliberate nod to Satoshi Nakamoto’s sign-off from Bitcoin.

Satoshi’s last email to Mike Hearn, Apr 23rd, 2011

Luis isn’t disappearing — he’s still part of the fabric, his code woven into everything we’ve built. But his step back has naturally dialed down the development tempo.

Here’s the silver lining, though: this isn’t a setback; it’s an invitation. Superalgos has always been a living organism, improving itself through collective intelligence. Our model thrives on decentralization — not just in tech, but in leadership.

With Luis focusing elsewhere, the door swings wide for others to step up, climb the ranks, and take the helm.

We’re a meritocracy at heart: contribute value, prove it through usable results, and earn your place. Whether you’re a coder, a strategist, or a community builder, this is your moment to “get shit done” and shape the project’s next chapter.

Current State: Stable Foundations, Lingering Gaps

The platform itself is battle-tested and robust. It’s been running smoothly for years, powering thousands of users with its unmatched versatility and power. Free, open-source, infinitely hackable — you can backtest strategies, automate trades, and visualize data in ways that put proprietary tools to shame. It’s the supermind in action: humans and machines collaborating to minimize the time to superalgos.

That said, we’re candid about the limitations. No DEX trading yet, so we’re still playing in centralized waters. Crypto-only focus means we’re missing broader assets like stocks or forex. And high-frequency trading? Not our wheelhouse — Superalgos excels in low-frequency plays where thoughtful automation wins out.

These are road bumps we’ve long aimed to smooth, but progress has slowed in this phase.

The Social Trading App remains the big unfinished symphony. We dove in with ambitious scope, envisioning a decentralized network for sharing signals instead of the underlying strategies. But we front-loaded the social features, essentially building a Twitter clone first — feeds, interactions, the whole complex backend — while core trading elements waited in the wings. Scope creep at its finest, friends. It led to unfinished pieces and a project that’s powerful in parts but not fully realized.

The current thinking is to strip it back to essentials: a straightforward, user-friendly, self-custody Copy Trading App.

Focus on one killer use case — effortless signal following without surrendering your keys. Picture it humming in the background on your phone, peer-to-peer, no servers required. If mobile’s a stretch (given OS/Store restrictions), pivot to desktop or CLI versions that run anywhere: Raspberry Pi, laptop, cloud. With or without UI, it’s about accessibility, empowering everyday traders to tap into community wisdom without the overhead.

Then there’s the SA token. Performance has been, well, underwhelming to put it mildly. Without that Copy Trading App live, utility’s limited to governance — voting on proposals, steering direction. Solid, but not enough to spark demand. We missed the last bull run because the token’s core use case — user-friendly decentralized copy trading — hasn’t launched.

That ripple effect hit hard: contributions dwindled, folks slowed down or stepped away entirely. Fair game in a meritocratic setup; if value isn’t flowing, neither do the incentives. As a result, we’ve paused token distribution until things align better — no sense flooding the market without backing it with real utility.

Incentives That Worked… and Where They Fell Short

Looking back, our original incentives model was a bold bet, and it delivered in spades on some fronts. Rooted in Bitcoin’s playbook, we reward value creation only — not effort, not intent, just usable results that improve the project. No pre-mines, no token sales; everyone, founders included, earns through proof-of-value.

It’s built a tight-knit community of low-time-preference folks: passionate, principled, focused on long-term resilience over quick flips.

In a crypto space riddled with scams and hype, that’s our secret sauce — a group grounded in openness, decentralization, and fair play.

But here’s the candid truth: it’s proven insufficient against a well-funded industry. When competitors are swimming in VC cash or token sale proceeds, our bootstrap model — relying on voluntary contributions — struggles to keep pace. We don’t sell tokens, so no war chest for full-time devs or marketing blitzes. Bear markets amplify this, slowing the positive feedback loop where growth begets more incentives.

Yet, opportunity knocks. The regulatory landscape has evolved big-time since our inception — clearer paths for compliant projects, less wild west. This is our cue to rethink and relaunch: reform the community, repackage Superalgos to vibe with today’s market. Attract ethical funding without ditching our open-source ethos. Shift from pure token-incentivized collaboration to an open-source work-for-hire model — hire pros to accelerate builds like that Copy Trading App, unlock token utility, and reignite the loop. It’s evolution, not abandonment: preserving meritocracy while scaling efficiently.

What’s Next: Your Call!

So far, the spark for this relaunch hasn’t ignited from within — the slowdown has folks in wait-and-see mode. But Superalgos is yours: the code, the governance, the future. Doors are wide open for anyone ready to roll up sleeves, explore options, craft a plan, and execute it.

Long-time contributors, new users tinkering with bots, entrepreneurs spotting potential, even investors eyeing a gem — dive in!

If this resonates, hit up our Telegram. Who knows? The relaunch might start with your idea. Until then, keep contributing value — Superalgos improves itself through you.

Moving On or Relaunching?

SUPERALGOS GOVERNANCE

Superalgos Dashboards App refactoring and new data

Photo by Stephen Dawson on Unsplash

This month, the Spanish team has made great progress in the Dashboards App, primarily by undertaking the significant task of refactoring the project within the Superalgos structure to make it globally accessible across different layers. Below is a summary of recent improvements and features, highlighting how these enhancements add value for both developers and end-users.

What’s New

Backend Enhancements

Bug Fixes and Refactoring: A considerable amount of work has been done on the backend, including bug fixes and refactoring to adapt the Dashboards App to the Project Schema structure of Superalgos. While the refactoring is not yet fully integrated, most of the original to-dos from the Dashboards App’s initial code issues have been resolved. For example:

Cleaned the dashboardsInterface file.

Resolved the issue where the Dashboards App could not run if Superalgos was already running.

Extracted eventServerClient into its own file.

Created new function library files for each dashboard data.

Added a new feature to run the Dashboards App directly from the Superalgos GUI.

By refactoring and enhancing the backend, we are making Superalgos more accessible and efficient following the project main structure.

Frontend Improvements

New Dashboards: We have introduced new Home, Event Server, and Task Manager dashboards.

These dashboards provides critical data for developers, such as the Event Server Dashboard and Task Manager Dashboard, which help in monitoring and managing platform operations. For less technical users, the Home Dashboard offers links of interest and other references, enhancing ease of use and accessibility.

Home Dashboard

The Home Dashboard has been significantly enhanced with new content! It now fetches news from our social media platforms such as Medium or X.com. Additionally, it includes links to PancakeSwap and 1inch for purchasing SA Tokens. Other features include:

Social Media Links: Easy access to our social media channels.

Project Resources: Links to Superalgos.org and the project documentation.

Wallet Integration: Ability to link your MetaMask wallet or create a new one and connect it to the UI.

Upcoming Features: Buttons in progress for creating a new profile or dashboard.

Home Dashboard overview

These enhancements will provide less experienced users with convenient access to important resources and tools, making the platform more user-friendly and reducing the learning curve.

Event Server and Task Manager Dashboard

Both dashboards share a similar appearance and display all Event Servers created on Superalgos or running tasks.

SUPERALGOS GOVERNANCE

Superalgos Dashboards for Trading Bots

Photo by Patrick Hendry on Unsplash

The Spanish team has made some progress in developing the Algorithmic Trading view within the Dashboards App, introducing a built-in solution for tracking and monitoring trading bots. Below is a summary of recent improvements and features.

Algorithmic Trading Dashboard v1.0

This first version includes reports, trading conditions, and candles!

In the next version, our goal is to refactor the Dashboards App into Projects to follow the project roadmap and merge functionalities between apps, like including a button on Superalgos GUI to run the Dashboards App.

How it works

The Dashboard App retrieves all data from any StatusReport.json and its Previous file found in the user Algorithmic-Trading local folder. The first tab of the Algorithmic Dashboard will report all your different bots considering session type, exchange, and asset pair. That means, you can generate different reports by using different Task Node names to run trading sessions, for example we could change the name of “Lightning-Strike” Task Node and it will generate a new StatusReport.json file. That way data is grouped and sent for each bot, ensuring each trading session’s stats are handled individually.

Algorithmic Trading Dashboard

Similarly, daily candle data (high and low) is extracted from Data.json files located in the Data-Mine folder. The function groups this information by exchange and asset pair and sends a data package for each unique combination.

Data is sent at a 1-minute interval and processed by the Dashboards App to be displayed across several panels.

For further details about the Dashboards App, refer to the README file.

How to Use It

To start using the algorithmic trading dashboard:

¡IMPORTANT!: Install Charts.js library to visualize charts. This step will not be necessary in future versions.

Open a terminal

Move to Superalgos folder for examplecd C:\Superalgos

Install chart.js npm install chart.js

Install chartjs-adapter-date-fns in your Superalgos folder.
npm install chartjs-adapter-date-fns

¡IMPORTANT!: Run the Dashboards App before launching Superalgos.

This is a temporary step due to a known bug that will be resolved in future updates. Details can be found in the Dashboards README.

Dashboards App is running before Superalgos App.

Use the following command to start Dashboards App: node dashboards. You can also add the option minMemo .

Once initiated, a browser tab will pop-up with address localhost:8080.

Launch the Superalgos App, which will automatically connect to the Dashboards App and start sending data. If you have connected successfully, the dashboards App console will show the following message: Platform -> Platform Dashboards Client has been Opened

After these steps, mined candle data and active trading sessions should be visualized in the dashboard.

Implemented features

Reports : Shows the latest statistics from your trading bots, supporting various markets, all different trading sessions , and multiple assets (e.g., BTC, ETH).

You can also see all conditions and formulas for Trigger Stage and Manage Stage on any strategy.

Performance : Under development, displays detailed performance charts, with future updates planned for bot comparison and more metrics.

Signal Providers : Under development, will show data from signal providers.

Assets : A chart displaying price variations (high/low) over time for any candle Data with different asset pair and exchange.

Candle Data overview

Issues like page refresh within views have been fixed.

Home dashboard and README file updated.

Upcoming enhancements

Refactoring: Merge Dashboards App into Superalgos Project Schema.

Run Dashboards App Button: A new feature allowing users to directly launch the Dashboards App from the Superalgos GUI.

Bot Comparison: Side-by-side bot performance analysis.

Edit Feature: See only what you really need! Editable Panels.

About Us

We are committed to empowering the Spanish-speaking community in their journey with Superalgos. Whenever a Trading Signal is received which contains an order trigger, the console will now show a message about the receipt of the signal, as well as the signal’s mapping to the local trading system (if any).

… and some more bugs squashed
Recent code changes have led to a new instability of Trading Signal receipts. This is also true for our team! The Elves and Fairies Team was created for single contributors who have not (yet) established bounds with a static team — or do not want to limit themselves to a specific working area. Regardless if you prefer to work in a team or independently: While delighting users and other contributors, we learn a lot about different aspects of Superalgos. There’s so much to discover! New contributors are welcome to join — and to cast some magic with us…

Contributors during May 2024:
BastianMuc

Elves & Fairies Team Proof of Value, May 2024 was originally published in Superalgos | Algorithmic Trading on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
