FCKDSKO Releases Auditory Pareidolia Induction, A Techno EP That Tricks The Senses  Denver-based producer FCKDSKO returns with Auditory Pareidolia Induction, a hypnotic techno EP that draws directly from the psychological phenomenon in its title—auditory pareidolia, the brain’s tendency to perceive illusory sounds that don’t exist, like voices, harmonies, or melodies inside existing sounds. 

This concept becomes a compositional tool across three immersive tracks that explore how repetition, distortion, and modulation can trick the ear, pushing listeners to hear beyond what’s actually present.

The opening track, “Auditory,” sets the tone with industrial undertones and a rolling hypnotic pulse. Jazzy cymbals flicker against cascading effects, while distorted synths rise and recede in waves. Patterns seem to form within the chaos—phantom melodies and rhythms emerge, then vanish. It’s a shifting soundscape built for deep focus and altered perception.

“Pareidolia” is a broken-beat detour with a funkier swing. Its centerpiece is a Reese pad so heavily modulated it feels organic—warm, brassy, almost like a baritone saxophone. This pad can create auditory illusions of harmony and motion when juxtaposed against the ghastly, undulating pads that swell and shrink throughout the composition. It’s dissociative and deeply satisfying, inviting repeated listens to decode its layers.

The closing track, “Induction,” channels acid and melody through a slow-building arc. Crisp percussion anchors the evolving synth work, as the track crescendos toward a wall-of-sound climax infused with breaks and harmonic saturation. By the end, you’re not sure if what you’re hearing is truly there—or just your mind connecting the dots.

FCKDSKO is a genreless manifestation of distorted, reverb-laden dance music, typically dark and atmospheric but guided by a love for all forms of psychedelic expression. That experimental lens defines his approach: unbound by dance music convention, he draws from techno, ambient, breaks, and even minimal classical composition. This boundaryless style has earned praise from artists like Takaaki Itoh, Pan-Pot, Slam, Alexander Kowalski, Noir, Marco Bailey, and Dimi Angelis.

His tracks have appeared on underground tastemaker platforms including HATE, 6AM, ballacid, Ltd, W/Lbl, and Les Yeux Orange, while sharing lineups with forward-thinking selectors like Christian Smith, Exos, Neel, Tin Man, and Pig & Dan. False Hope // Victoria is an experimental ambient album by the multifaceted artist FCKDSKO. 

False Hope was made with a modular system and an emulation of the famed CS-80, juxtaposing a warm, blissful lead with a buoyant countermelody.

Victoria takes a seldom-used approach to sound design. The drones are made from layered recordings of an organic, wooden drone box known as the shruti - recorded in a hotel in CDMX. Everything that sounds like effects are in fact natural phasing that occurs when similar waveforms are stacked on top of each other. FCKDSKO only added a reverb tail at the end, but otherwise, there are no electronic effects - only psychoacoustic ones. This results in a sound that is both soothing but simultaneously distorted and tense. It's a unique feeling.

BlackSine is a registered non-profit that creates networkin and collaborative opportunities for music producers. Based in Denver, CO, USA, they also host a monthly meetup that attracts 30-40 producers per month.

FCKDSKO is the label head and the primary artist appearing on the label who has a solid reputation. His residency of the respected event Nocturnal in his hometown, has led to supporting top acts such as Christian Smith, Tin Man, Exos, and Neel, amongst others.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "Jet" which clocks in at 136 BPM. The title comes from a cascading drone in the piece that sounds like a jet breaking the sound barrier. This shockwave is flanked by an Arctic pad that ascends and crescendos until the signature arp reveals itself, ducking and weaving below the pad, to create an intense, psychedelic experience.

I started this track in Boulder, CO and finished it in Medellin, Colombia. I worked on it while I was travelling in Panama as well. It's final mix and master was through a portable speaker and LANDR, which gives it this lofi quality which surprisingly compliments the jazz drumming in my opinion.
