Last summer I was asked by the crew of ID&T and Multigroove to do a secret little silent disco set at camping Tijdloos. 

This was the first set I got to play after 'Rona hit us and people were so craving a lil' raving. 

I still look back on those 3 hours of releasing all that energy with 150 smiles wearing headphones and going absolutely bonkers! 

This mix is the 2nd hour of my set, it's a fast-paced mix of Disco, Techno, New Wave, Electro, Rave Anthems and more... 20+ tracks featuring artists:

When Michael Dryburgh, an ex-colleague of mine, asked me to join him for his Podcast: Mixtapes With Mike. I obviously said yes without hesitation. 
Mike asks his guests to make a selection of 10 tunes (which is harder than you might think) and sits down to talk about the selection for a small hour or more. 

As a dj I wanted to showcase a wide variety of musical genres and not pick the go-to artists (David Bowie, Bob Marley, Talking Heads, The Clash, Bad Brains, Joy Division, Public Enemy, NWA, Wu-Tang Clan, GangStarr, Aphex Twin…... I wanted to dig a little deeper for proto-sounds & productions. And I wanted to cover only artists that had not been mentioned by any earlier guests. 

To top it off I thought it would be a great idea to make an actual mixtape of the selection. This is a mix of Avantgarde Rock, New Wave, Funk-Punk, Dark-Disco, Dub Reggae, Rap, Horrorcore, Noise and more…

I've been playing with vinyl since 1995, from early nineties hip-hop to rave & techno. After 2001 I quit pigeonholing myself and started experimenting with mixing tunes over the whole musical spectrum. My main inspiration to this day is skateboarding: which got me in contact with a mix of punkrock/d.i.y. vs hip-hop culture (rap, turntablism & breakdance). After that seed was planted I started digging in all music that led to these genres and all that sprouted from them!
