Clear thinking for complex SAP realities

Most organisations do not fail at SAP because of technology.

They fail because the problem they are trying to solve is poorly defined.

Welcome to

Lydian Global Business Services

At Lydian Global Business Services, we work with leadership teams who already know something is wrong, but are not satisfied with generic explanations or one-size-fits-all solutions. Our work begins by clarifying the problem definition before proposing any solution.

We operate across SAP implementations, stabilisation, audits, data, integration, and planning, but we do not treat SAP as the problem. We treat it as the context in which business problems surface.

A Note from the CEO

I have spent decades working with ERP systems across industries, geographies, and organisational cultures. If there is one conclusion I have reached with absolute certainty, it is this.

ERP consultants do not create value.

Value is created by people who actually run businesses. By those who produce goods, manage operations, plan demand, reconcile accounts, move inventory, serve customers, and make decisions under constraints. Even the most junior employee in an organisation contributes more directly to value creation than any consultant ever will.

Consultants exist to support that value creation, not to claim it.

How Lydian works

We are an SAP-first firm, but we are not an SAP-only firm.

Our work spans SAP implementations, stabilisation, audits, data engineering, integration architecture, and operational planning. What differentiates us is not the tools we use, but the way we approach problem framing, delivery governance, and decision clarity.

We work globally, with leadership teams who value:

Plain business English over jargon
Correct diagnosis over speed
Control and predictability over theatre

Engagements typically begin with a focused conversation, not a proposal. If the problem definition is unclear, we do not proceed.

Insights from the field

Over the years, Lydian’s leadership has written extensively on SAP, enterprise systems, and large-scale delivery programmes. These are not marketing articles. They are reflections drawn from real projects, real failures, and real recoveries.

Our Insights section is a growing library of writing on:

This writing exists to support understanding and due diligence, not promotion.

Start a conversation

If one of the problem definitions above resonates with your situation, the next step is a conversation to determine whether our way of working fits your expectations.

We are selective about the engagements we take on, and we expect the same clarity from the organisations we work with.

Unfortunately, as an industry, we often forget this. We inflate our importance, hide behind jargon, and dress up simple ideas in language so dense that clients are left confused rather than empowered. We call this complexity. It is not. It is obfuscation. I call it “mambo-jambo.”

At Lydian, we reject that approach completely.

We speak in plain business English. We believe information should be free. There is nothing proprietary about understanding how finance works, how supply chains behave, or how planning systems fail. The idea that knowledge must be obscured to justify consulting fees is not just wrong, it is corrosive.

What clients pay for is not information. They pay for judgment. They pay for experience. They pay for the ability to apply what is already known to their specific situation, under real constraints, with discipline and accountability.

ERP programmes do not fail because of software. They fail because organisations are misled, decisions are deferred, and responsibility is diffused. Our role is to reduce confusion, not add to it. To clarify choices, not complicate them. And to do so without pretending to be more important than the people who actually run the business.

That is how we work at Lydian. We don’t charge for information. We charge for the application of it. With intelligence, experience, and always with the end goal of adding value to the business. Yes, always.
