Frequently asked questions
What makes it a smart dock?
Its widgets share what they know. Your calendar holds your meetings, renewals and payouts; your AI tiles know your limits. So the dock pauses your music before a meeting, warns before an AI limit runs out, and asks if you still need a plan before it renews. Each automation is one switch in Settings.
Can I connect Google Calendar, Outlook or iCloud?
Yes. Paste the calendar's secret iCal link under Calendars in the Calendar card. lumabar reads it every 15 minutes, read-only, and the link stays on your PC.
How much is it, and is there a subscription?
No subscription: $5.99 once for a lifetime license key, with every update included.
Can I get a refund?
Yes - lumabar comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee. If it isn't right for you, email hello@lumabar.xyz (or use Feedback in the dock's Settings) from the address you bought with, and the payment is refunded in full through Polar, no questions asked.
Will it run on my PC?
If it runs Windows 11 or Windows 10, yes - 64-bit and 32-bit. Pick your version in the Buy menu; if you're not sure, it is 64-bit.
What happens to the Windows taskbar?
While lumabar is open, it sets the taskbar to auto-hide (the default) or hides it completely - your choice. It never modifies Windows: close lumabar and the taskbar is back as it was.
Can I put the bar at the top of the screen?
Yes. Drag the dock to the top edge and it snaps there, with its panels opening downward - on Windows 10 and every Windows 11 build. (Windows 11's own taskbar can move to the top again with the September 2026 update, rolling out gradually - lumabar gives you a top bar with live widgets, not just icons.)
What data leaves my PC?
Very little, and never to us: there is no account, no lumabar server and no telemetry. Your layout, todos, notes, calendar links and automations stay on your PC. Only the license check and the widgets you turn on go online - each talks straight to its own service, and nothing is collected.
Can I add my own apps and folders?
Yes. The Apps widget shows the apps pinned to your Windows taskbar plus every open window - pin an app in Windows and it appears in the dock. Downloads, Screenshots, Recent files and the Recycle Bin have widgets of their own, and the Search widget opens any folder path you type.
Will more widgets be added?
Yes - new widgets arrive with updates, free for every license. See what's planned on the Roadmap, and send requests through Feedback in the dock's Settings.
