Room with a View...

 

This is the Thread Shed...

where I do most of my stitching

It is located in our yard by the Hen House...

The Cowboy built it for me in 2000...

hard to believe I have been stitching

in here for 26 years !

It is my Happy Place...

The chickens are always pecking around

nearby to keep me company...

The building is 16 x 24 feet

 

It houses my long arm on the left,

big board ironing board on the right,

Large work table in center of room,

Media cabinet in the back left corner

My sewing machine is by the big window...

I can see so much out this window

While I sew I can see cattle in the corral

and goats in the red barn...

From the cutting table I can see across the river...

I watch the cows eat their hay bales...

They are gathered around the bale feeder

up on the bench above the river...

I look to see if the hay feeder is empty

and if we need to fill it up...

I love being able to watch our girls

while I sew...

Scrub Caps...

I have been stitching Scrub Caps

since January...

I am now making a few in Holiday fabrics...

This is a cap with a pouch in the back

for long hair...

Love the Snowmen...

Christmas Kitties Scrub Cap...

New Holiday Scrub caps ready to

send out in the mail.

I have made more than 150 caps for

men and women since January.

Autumn has arrived in Western Oregon:

This is our home place...

I took this picture from across the river while

feeding cattle today.

This is the back side of our place.

The red goat barn is on the right,

my yellow thread shed is to the left of the barn.

We have been feeding cattle for several weeks.

We also had 3 inches of rain last week...

We will be weaning calves in 3 weeks.

Hello Spring....Progress

 Happy Spring Quilt

Progress Report...

This is my Block of the Month

the first Wednesday of each month

at my local quilt group

The flower blocks are 20 inches long...

There are three different design choices...

I am doing the first one on the left,

which includes flowers and lady bugs

I made my first lady bug today....FUN !

The design layout I chose

includes 14 lady bug blocks...

By the end of the day I have all 8 flowers

and 2 lady bug blocks completed.

We are back to feeding cattle...

The grands are here for a visit

so we have lots and lots of help...

We are feeding square bales...

We are feeding round bales...

to help with fabric placement...

Here is my first unit all paper pieced...

I have to quit for today to help the Cowboy

round up a few of our cows...

It is so dry here in Western Oregon,

we are already feeding the hay we made

in June and July

to our cattle...

I do love the Queen Anne's Lace

that grows in the hay lot...

Most people consider it a weed...

I think it is gorgeous!

Moving Bales...

It's Moving Day...

We are loading up the bales

from the hay fields

and hauling them to the hay lot...

We use two pickups and trailers...

The Cowboy is picking up bales

and loading them onto the trailers...

They are all hauled over to the hay lot

and put into piles of 50 bales each...

This fall, the piles will be covered up

to keep the bales dry...

The Cowboy loads and I drive the trailer...

There are three of us in the hay field today...

The Cowboy's 89 year old dad

is loading and hauling with us...

 Two hay fields piled up...
