FlyMD is a Markdown editor for people who keep notes, write long documents or publish blogs. It stores documents locally and adds writing assistance and document tools through extensions.

  • Markdown editing: Switch between source and WYSIWYG modes, use split view in source mode, and find your place with a document outline and saved reading position.
  • AI writing and document conversion: Get writing, polishing and correction help for selected text, or use parsing plugins to extract PDF and image content, including formulas and tables, into Markdown or DOCX with translation support. The built-in AI uses SiliconFlow's hosted service, so requests leave your device and need an internet connection; it doesn't require an API key.
  • Library search: Search across document text or use the RAG extension's local vector index for semantic search through your notes.
  • Publishing and collaboration: Publish to Typecho, WordPress or Halo, track document history with the Git extension, and edit with other people through a collaboration extension.
  • Tasks and reminders: Extract todos from notes and send scheduled reminders through services such as WeChat, email, DingTalk and Feishu.

The desktop editor runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. It exports PDF and DOCX files and can turn notes into desktop windows that stay on top. WebDAV sync supports end-to-end encryption across devices and libraries.

A paid desktop AI Novel Engine plugin adds plot alternatives, foreshadowing checks, character-state tracking and draft review. It supports multiple models working together and is compatible with the Git version-control plugin.
