Happy Thoughts

Hi there,

welcome back to the STAMPlorations Stencil Challenge. As you surely know the only requirement is to use a stencil on your project.

I played around with some alcohol inks on a ceramic tile for this one:

  • apply some Alcohol Pearl Inks onto a ceramic tile and create a rainbow background
  • apply Prima Marketing Light Paste through the ARTplorations Flair stencil and let this layer dry thoroughly
  • add color to the paste with Distress Ink Black Soot
  • add some splatters with watered-down black acrylic paint
  • adhere some burlap and ribbon to the tile using hot glue and add a sentiment from the STAMPlorations Shine Bright sticker set on top

Have a colorful day.

Dreamers Only

Hi there,

we are starting a new Mixed Media Challenge over on the STAMPlorations Blog:

  • cut out one of the CUTplorations Luggage Tags from kraft cardstock and cover it with white gesso
  • add color with the help of Paper Artsy Infusions Raspberry
  • apply Distress Ink Pine Needles through the ARTplorations Leaf Prints Mini stencil
  • add splatters with watered-down white acrylic paint
  • use Memento Luxe Wedding Dress to stamp the burlap texture from the STAMPlorations Scribbly Splattery Grunge set
  • grunge up the edges of the tag with Prima Marketing Metallique Wax Mystic Turquoise
  • cut out one of the dies from the CUTplorations For the Birds set from kraft cardstock
  • cover the die cut with watered-down white acrylic paint
  • stamp the alphabet from the STAMPlorations Scribbly Splattery Grunge set with Adirondack Latte and heat-emboss it with clear embossing powder - unintentionally, I got a fun effect here: while heat-embossing the ink didn't stay a uniform print but formed little speckles
  • grunge up a piece of burlap with white acrylic paint
  • adhere the burlap and the birds with hot glue
  • create a sentiment with a label maker
  • dye a piece of torn seam binding with Distress Ink Pine Needles and thread it through the hole of the tag

I hope you got inspired.
