Overview

The Traden Program is an initiative that aims to synergise government support with private sector engagement to empower at-risk youth through vocational education in the construction industry. It is designed to address the social challenges of youth recidivism in NSW and contributing to economic development.

Aspirational Partnership Dynamics

A strategic alliance between the New South Wales Government, Traden Construction School, Kadyn Drainage, and John Holland is central to this initiative. The government initiates the funding cycle through direct agreements and payments, enabling Traden to provide targeted educational services. Employment providers (Kadyn Drainage, Oak Services & John Holland) play a crucial role in integrating program graduates into the labour force, and closing the gap between education and employment.

Meet the Villagers

Adam is the Director of Kadyn Drainage and the founder of Traden construction school and mentoring program. Adam has over 30 years experience in the construction industry and has worked on some of Australia’s major projects including Western Sydney airport, Kingsford Smith Airport, Sydney Metro Stations, Sydney Football Stadium with JHG, Warringah Freeway upgrade, Royal North Shire Hospital, Randwick Childrens Hospital and with Sydney trains.

Kadyn currently has a rolling contract in place with John Holland rail to help them provide drainage, CSR, track-work and machinery to fulfil their workload with Sydney trains and ARTC.

4 years ago, Adam founded a ‘mentoring program’ and set up an RTO called Traden to educate our youth in construction focusing on infrastructure and rail projects. Adam believes that the combination of mentoring and training will help make a difference to the youth of NSW and one day Australia-wide.

Uwe established Wealth of Nations Advisors (WONA) 10 years ago specialising in raising third-part institutional capital for its clients, best-in-class global alternative investments firms, managing in excess of $300 billion in assets. Six years ago, WONA launched the Impact Investing Portfolio, the platform through which the Wealth of Nations group of companies, Wealth of Nations Advisors, Wealth of Nations Fintech & Wealth of Nations Impact Asset Management aim to facilitate the flow of institutional capital to impact investments in private markets.

Prior to establishing Wealth of Nations, Uwe has had a 30+ year career in financial markets on both the buy and sell side, having started his career with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, in New Zealand, and subsequently having worked at some of the world’s largest investment banks, including Merrill Lynch, Citibank and Credit Agricole. Uwe is a macro strategist with a particular interest and focus on geopolitics, emerging markets, people.

Uwe Fuehrer 

Shannon Hinton is a proud Aboriginal man from the Yuin and Wonnarua peoples of New South Wales. With over a decade of experience in Communities and Justice, I have held various roles and currently serve as an Aboriginal Practice Officer.

Shannon's primary goal is to address and reduce the over-representation of Aboriginal individuals in the justice system by advocating for alternative solutions that empower communities. Shannon firmly believes that fostering partnerships and implementing effective strategies are key to preventing issues from escalating.

Professionally, a senior business management and human resource professional with extensive experience in government sectors and a diverse range of skills and interests in complex organisational change, strategic planning, project and program management, governance, continuous improvement, and business performance. 
 
Personally, Captain of the Australian Women’s Rugby Union Team and Australian representative for over 16 years from the inaugural year (1994), including three XV-a-side world cups and inaugural Women’s Rugby 7’s World Champions (2009) and the first female Queensland Rugby Union Hall of Fame Inductee (2022). Also a multiple Qld Rugby League and Australian All-Stars representative and professional gridiron player. 

Selena Worsley

Greg's knack for choosing the difficult path, making tough decisions, and embracing failure has equipped him with a profound understanding of how to motivate individuals and teams to surpass their expectations. He is a Director on the board of NeuroOptomize Heart, supporting Veterans to diagnose and treat traumatic brain injury. While his professional life is marked by strategic prowess, Greg finds solace and inspiration in the ocean, which serves as a sanctuary from life's busyness.
