Puerto Barú in David will be Panama’s first green port and the largest private investment in the history of Chiriquí. We are developing a sustainable multipurpose port that will connect the western region with the world, operating with renewable energy and zero deforestation. Located 15 km from David, with direct access to Enrique Malek Airport, it will be built on 124 hectares of land, featuring a multipurpose terminal for cargo, liquids, and tourism. It will preserve 42% of its area as permanent green spaces and have the capacity to handle 200,000 TEUs annually. This territory already has a port legacy: formerly known as Puerto Cabrito, it was once a regional hub for commercial activity. Today, with a forward-looking vision, we are reviving that legacy to facilitate the movement of goods and supplies in and out of one of the country’s most productive regions: the western region.
