Thank you for joining us at the Nikkei Matsuri! NKC Bay Area is a peer-led karate community based out of Redwood City. Affiliated with Japan Karate-dō Jinen-Kai, we were founded in 2022 as a way for members to rekindle their training in Shindō-Jinen Ryū karate after moving to the Bay Area. We’re happy we got the opportunity to share the story of our ryuha and our club with you through our performance. Note that our club is unique among karate schools, as it runs more like a study group than a class. We coordinate trainings to best incorporate our members' schedules. Nihon Karate Club Bay Area is a peer-led karate community from the San Francisco Bay Area, currently based out of Redwood City. We train Shindō-Jinen Ryū karate, in affiliation with Japan Karate-Dō Jinen-Kai International, but our members draw experience from multiple styles of karate. We're open to adult practitioners of all experience levels!
