2025 was the year protein ‘jumped the shark’
2025 was not the year protein finally got its due. It was the year protein was oversold, overvalued and overhyped. The science of protein has not changed; we just need to listen to it again.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CORE ENDURANCE AND BACK DYSFUNCTION IN COLLEGIATE MALE ATHLETES WITH AND WITHOUT NONSPECIFIC LOW BACK PAIN | Charlie Rowe
Conclusion “The results of this study imply that poor core endurance is likely associated with nonspecific LBP in collegiate athletes. Injury risk reduction and back management programs for the athletic population should include strategies that emphasize endurance of the core muscles especially the trunk extensors and flexors.”

I am with Jackson Fyfe as I am also a big fan of resistance training. It simply helps with everything we do daily, in real life, regardless of age. This is why I find his posts so valuable and inspiring. And this is why I share so many of them on here and on my socials. Side note: I just started training, at the request of family members, a 91 year old go-getter lady, post knee replacement last fall, who also runs a company with 100 employees. Man, is she ever an inspiration to me. I leave the session totally energized even though it’s the end of a long day with clients, and can’t wait to see her again each time. I hope this inspires you, too.

Very true. And most people just plain old think too much about- What… | Mary K. Ludlow, BA, CSCS
Very true. And most people just plain old think too much about- What exercise should I do? Should I exercise today? Do I feel like it? Is it cold outside? Is it too hot out? Do I have enough time? What should I wear? Do I feel like it? Etc… So, stop thinking. By the time you keep dilemma-ing, you could have been done and feeling fantastic is what I tell my clients (although most have developed excellent habits). Also, notice, each and every workout, exactly HOW you feel when you are done. Think about that. And when you become a regular exerciser, if not before, you’ll be able to literally notice good feelings and positive thoughts flood your body and mind midway through your workout. This is what hooks us. This is what makes us healthier and happier each and every day. Thank you Jackson Fyfe for another good one.
