From Harmony to Healthcare: Zoraya Gonzales
Zoraya Gonzales, a 2025 graduate of Harmony Science Academy in San Antonio, discovered her passion for forensic science through a high school forensics class and is now pursuing a double major in Toxicology and Pharmacology at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. During her college years, she participated in a medical mission to Morocco with Volunteer Morocco, where she gained hands-on experience in surgical settings and witnessed the global impact of healthcare. Zoraya advises current high school students interested in healthcare careers to take advantage of dual enrollment courses, join organizations like HOSA, and maintain balance through extracurricular activities while building their academic foundation.

Mason B., a Harmony School of Advancement-Houston senior and QuestBridge Finalist, has transformed personal adversity into academic excellence while helping raise his niece and nephew and working two jobs alongside rigorous dual programs in Biomedical Science and Engineering. With seven AP courses completed and multiple technical certifications including Fanuc robot operation and biotech lab credentials, Mason has secured scholarships and acceptance opportunities at elite universities including Johns Hopkins, Case Western and Howard University. Driven by a vision to develop synthetic blood replacements and provide medical devices to underserved communities worldwide, Mason's journey from sixth-grade student to accomplished scholar proves that determination and compassion can overcome any obstacle to achieve extraordinary dreams.
