Why Are People so Upset About ICE? My Response to a Trump Voter
Why Are People so Upset About ICE? My Response to a Trump Voter
Last November one of the handful of Trump voters I know reached out with a question. He said, “There is a ‘political’ thing that I’m certain we disagree on and I’m trying to wrap my mind around it.” Over the last year or so I’ve been trying to engage conservatives in conversation, in person whenever possible, to try to understand why they support the things they do. 1972 Emblem Hat
1972 Emblem Hat
If this design looks familiar, you’ve probably been here for a while. This was on the official City of Tacoma flag from 1972 until 1991 when they adopted the current (and far less cool) design. According to American City Flags by John M. Purcell, the upper portion shows “a stylized Mount Rainier” with the lower portion representing Commencement Bay. As for the rest of it, “the rainbow symbolizes the bridge of communication; the seagull, the union of sky and abundant waters; and the circle, the timeless union of these qualities leading to a bright future.”

Trading Time and Talents
Trading Time and Talents
You've got time and talents, we've got opportunity for hands-on experience in the magazine making industry. Let's meet up. Whenever we get a new issue from the printer, we bind all of them at our office and pack them all up for shipping. We're usually only able to give a day or two heads up for our binding and shipping parties but if you're free, we'd love to hang out. For everything outside of Hard Copy production, we're trying to expand our network and trade some skills with people in the community. Please note: Our office is on the second floor of a tall old building with only stairs. If you have any mobility issues, please reach out and let us know and we can make it work. Also, we have a separate form for freelance submissions if you're feeling creative.
