800,000 Olive Trees Uprooted, 33 Central Parks - Visualizing Palestine
[October 2013] October marks the start of the annual Palestinian olive harvest, an ancient tradition on which 80,000 families still rely for their livelihoods. Yet these families face growing economic hardship due to Israeli land confiscations, access restrictions, settler attacks, and not least the widespread uprooting, destruction and theft of the trees themselves. The infographic ‘Uprooted’ focuses on the staggering fact that Israeli authorities have uprooted over 800,000 Palestinian olive trees since 1967, the equivalent to razing all of the 24,000 trees in New York's central park 33 times.

Palestinian Farmers' Struggle for Survival and the Fight for Food Sovereignty : Via Campesina
Food Sovereignty For over a year, since October 2023, Palestine has endured the relentless onslaught of Israeli genocidal warfare, coupled with 76 years of ongoing settler colonialism, systemic land theft, and deliberate attacks on indigenous food systems. In the face of Israel’s systematic destruction and violent targeting of Palestinian farmers, UAWC calls on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and for the social movements and civil society to intensify their solidarity for Palestinians and to dismantle the mechanisms of occupation, colonization, and exploitation.

The Starvation of Gaza, Palestinian Food Sovereignty & The Question of Accountability - Maydan

Palestinian Food Sovereignty - Visualizing Palestine
In this visual, we explore various ways that Israeli policies of settler colonialism and apartheid deny Palestinian food sovereignty. During the Nakba in 1948, Palestinian refugees lost some 4.6 million dunums of farmland, which the Israeli state quickly appropriated for Jewish-only agricultural settlements. The Ongoing Nakba continues to take a heavy toll on farmers, fishers, and pastoralists across historic Palestine. In besieged Gaza, 35% of agricultural land is inaccessible due to Israeli military measures. In the occupied West Bank, 63% of agricultural land is under complete Israeli control in Area C, with Palestinian rural communities in Area C being some of the most vulnerable to Israeli policies of forced displacement. Israel’s wall cuts off more than 10% of the West Bank, forcing thousands of Palestinian farmers to constantly petition Israeli authorities for permits to access their own land beyond the wall.

Gaza Water 2023 - Visualizing Palestine
Before the genocide which started in October 2023, Palestinians in Gaza struggled to access clean water, with 97% of Gaza’s freshwater resources contaminated due to the Israeli blockade and repeated bombardments. Many families in poverty were forced to spend a third or more of their income to purchase water from unregulated sources, with the hopes that it is safe. Now, this already dire situation is exponentially worse.
