Hi Iâm Niko! Im 29, trans non-binary and work as a tattoo artist in Baltimore. Ive been dealing with chronic hip and back pain of varying levels, at many times severe, for years. Iâve tried meds and physical therapy, but the pain always comes back. So I have finally seen a surgeon at the recommendation of an orthopedic specialist and will be having surgery on my hip this November. I am so grateful to have access to this care, but am very anxious about recovery as I will not be able to walk for 2 weeks and wonât be able to work for 6weeks. Due to the physically demanding nature of my job, I am limited in how much I can work until surgery as well. I am reaching out to my community for any and all support during this time. The surgery cost *should* be covered fully by insurance (they are giving some pushback) thank you for reading and for any support you are able to provide as part of my community
