The warm grown drawings feel a bit playful and almost like joyful organisms. Because the lines are connecting on a different angle, there is a benign energy that the warm drawings radiate. These drawings also emerge from a nucleus. I chose to work with two different ink colors here and the layers give the drawing a feeling of time. 42x27.7cm inks on 300g acid free paper

As the sun rises, so does hope

The drawings are sometimes more of an expression of emotions than portraits of imaginary life. This multicolored drawing has a breathing motion in it. A bit like discovering someone loved in the street and then running to meet their embrace. I used different inks and mixed them in the actual drawing, allowing for a darker center of the image, surrounded by joyful glow. The warm grown drawings feel a bit playful. While running towards loved ones

The waves of this drawing are more balanced than most. And it feels like there are three stages to growth. At first there was the nucleus. Then the two waves have emerged. A longer ring of growth separates the top of the drawing from the bottom. And the bottom is also protected by its own ring. The color palette gives the drawing a feeling of water waves perhaps? Though somehow solid? Ink on paper 42x29.7cm

The G method

This drawing was executed with some of the remaining drops of a 1963 ink i managed to buy a bottle of on flask walk in 2019. Originally probably intended to write negative numbers into accounting books or perhaps to correct student’s essays, this ink has turned to be a beautiful substance full of life and joy. There are just a few more drops left of it. I want to only use it to draw joyful images. Like this one. 42x27.7cm inks on 300g acid free paper

Perpetual joy even if hidden

There is a calm darkness in this drawing that feels like that moment when I wake up at 3 in the morning and look out of the window over the trees in search of the moon and try to not wake up completely, just stay in the suspended state between dream and sleep. 27.7x21cm inks on 300g acid free paper

When feeling, feel deeply

This smaller warm drawing carries in it a moment of very focused positive meditation. The colors allow to calm down, contemplate the emotions that come from caring for others, the world and for oneself. And maybe it also allows to feel how closely these emotions can be related to each other. At times they can be the same. I used different inks and mixed them in the actual drawing, allowing for layers to emerge. 29.7x21cm inks on 300g acid free paper
