I started out just mucking around on guitar for a couple of years, then realized it was turning into more than just a hobby. I ended up finding a local tutor who became a good mate and later a bandmate. Somewhere along the way I picked up a bass and started learning both instruments side by side.
In late 2023 I decided to take it a bit more seriously and applied to study music at Toi Ohomai. That course gave me a solid grounding in the basics of the music world, and I carried on into the Diploma in 2025 which is now, sadly, just about wrapped up.
I’ve always messed around with different kinds of art, but music’s the one that really gets me, it’s emotionally gripping in a way nothing else is. I want to make projects that really tap into human reactions and emotion, stuff that makes people feel something.
My influences are Geirr Tveitt and Tchaikovsky for the music side, and Fatty Arbuckle when it comes to film. I’ve got plans to shoot my own film so watch out!
