Many children can read words but lack language for feelings. UNMASK’s Read to Rewire: Voices of Tomorrow is a literacy + self-discovery school tour project that brings short, age-appropriate stories, guided reflection and simple mental-health awareness to classrooms. Each visit combines interactive storytelling, drawing/journalling, short emotional-literacy prompts, and creative activities to help children name emotions, practise self- expression, and discover that reading can be a tool for calm and resilience. We plan two phases (February and September) to reach 150 children per phase (300 children total) across public and private schools in Lagos. Phase 1 (Feb) targets 3 public primary schools (≈150 pupils total). Phase 2 (Sept) targets 1 public + 1 private secondary school (≈150 pupils).
