I feel like I need to clarify this, as most people look at antinatalism and think we're all crazy people apposing childbirth and those who want a child.

"if we truly consider the welfare of potential offspring, we must weigh whether coming into this world is in their best interest."

And unlike most antinatalist, I do not entirely think having children is unethical, given my point below:

I will add in my say, along with the web's other points. Acknowledging the state of the world is a must, and whether or not you (the person having the child) will commit full responsibility of looking after the child. This includes many other future things that might arise in life, and being understanding and inclusive. Ex. if you are not willing to accept your child possibility being LGBT+, then you should not be having this child.

2nd point: voluntary human extinction.
This is more of a long term vision, and none of aponists condone forced or even promote sterilization or other means of life ending. Instead embracing the idea that the human population will eventually go extinct.

I personally view it as less of the human population is better, and later nature and animals once again reclaim what was once there. I will quote from the website's paragraph, as I know most won't read through the whole thing.

"We do not express this as misanthropy (hatred of humans), but as altruism taken to its logical extreme. We love many things about humanity—art, science, love itself—and precisely because we value well-being and beauty, we contemplate that the greatest gift we could eventually give the universe is a world free from the immense harms we unintentionally cause. Even if one doesn’t personally subscribe to the full extinction idea, Aponists at minimum encourage a dramatic global reduction in birth rates."
