The ambivalence of our society emerges in politically dynamics that are directly targeted on our sexuality and thus the most fundamental characteristic of human life. The field of sex work is directly affected by these movements. Futhermore it reflects social issues by revealing the existence of gender roles and the prosperity of a society. In addition, prostitution is deeply rooted in our society and present in almost every culture. The buisness is well known as the oldest profession in the world. The connection between prostitution and the city can be found in various urban planning models, but an architectural solution seems to be missing. Das Haus der Lüste provides an architectural approach to the discussion of sex work.
