Year-Round Projects
BlackFest Script Club 2024 -2026
BlackFest Script Club 2024 -2026
BlackFest Script Club is supported by the Everyman Playhouse as a creative and interactive artist development programme in the form of play/script reading sessions supporting 6-8 early emerging to mid career Black and brown artists to gain insight and experience in the early stages in theatre. The group will will be exploring writing from Black British and Global majority plays that have had a production and toured in the UK. This will be an ongoing programme designed to equip artists the art of telling their stories and shaping narratives. You will go through a process reading the scripts taking on characters, discussing themes, characters, plot and deconstruct the plays. If you love to read and would love to read plays from Black and GM writers this is for you. Please note there is no expectations of you to create anything we are gathering simply to read and understand the art of play writing. We will encourage you to write however it is not a requirement of the course.
