Our YouTube channel Sard is an independent Egyptian band formed in Cairo in 2018 through a collaboration between Hossam Hassan and Islam Wael. Drawing from indie and oriental rock influences, Sard emerged with a sound that bridges Arab musical heritage and contemporary underground expression, creating music that feels both rooted and personal.
Rather than chasing genres, Sard focuses on crafting songs that connect with listeners on an intimate level. Their music carries warmth and honesty, positioning the band as a voice for those seeking emotional depth and a genuine connection to the songs they listen to.
In its early years, Sard released the album “Bedaya” and singles such as “Meen Galak” and “Rasiny”, marking their presence in the Egyptian underground music scene. After a pause due to production challenges, Hossam continued the project with the EP “Men Fat Adeemo”, reinterpreting songs from the 1960s and 1970s with modern arrangements.
