Layers of Interconnection Mission Statement

I am a human that studies human life through my own experiences and consistent need for healing modalities and healthy coping strategies. My goal is to put out my learnings in hopes that it inspires your own safe space for healing. One of the silent killers on the planet right now is loneliness and the feeling of being completely alone. I believe we have the ability to heal ourselves to some extent and the more we come together and talk about and explore this individually and collectively, the less lonely we become and the more connected we can live and thrive!

About me

I am just a human…

I have been teaching yoga since 2014 to all ages and bodies! I began my journey as a practitioner in 2012 after having my son as a healthy support for low back pain and postpartum depression. After reading a variety of books and practicing from what I read about, I would take the free Sunday community class at Lululemon and this allowed me to reconnect with so many communities, explore a variety of teaching styles and types of yoga. In 2014 I found out about Joy Yoga university and walked into my first yoga studio to put my deposit down for yoga teacher training. During the process of getting certified I taught free 1:1 sessions and kids at my old high school (Westchester Academy) which allowed me to dive into trying out different teaching styles and ages. I then worked at Joy yoga teaching restorative, vinyasa and gentle yoga.

In 2018 I became a facilitator and soon thereafter the Regional Program Director of Niroga Institute. This job allowed me to deep dive into Social and emotional education through trauma informed mindfulness and trainings on trauma and its impact on the brain to body connection. I had the opportunity to lead trainings and my team to spread this knowledge through Spring ISD, La Porte ISD, Houston ISD, Tomball ISD, Boys & Girls club staff and Los Puentes High School. What an honor to serve this work to such a large community of all ages and expertise. The aim was to provide workshops to staff that covered accessible self care, burnout prevention and understanding types of trauma and personally, systematically and communally.

In 2022 I began leading circlework (trauma informed community circles to discuss and process being a human in a safe space individually and collectively) and also held my first women's retreat with Veronica Loomis. I have an absolute passion for retreats because it allows you time to transition properly from day to day happenings to a space internally of healing.

In the past couple years I have really enjoyed teaching 1:1 sessions and small groups in person and virtually because it allows me to really hold the most impactful space for the client receiving services!
