Discipulus fuit Gulielmi Mason (ipso discipulo Francisci Liszt et Ignatii Moscheles), Antonii Rubinstein, et aliorum. Compositionibus Eduardi Elgar praecipue favit. Professor musicam adhibitam in Universitate Yalensi sedecim annos ex 1894 docuit, cum Horatio Parker professore theoriae.[2]
