It has been a few quiet years for this page in terms of new material and in gaming within it. While it’s indeed been less active – that is not a bad thing. It does not mean I’m not thinking of what’s going on in the world and how certain events affect it overall. A living world is one where events change history, nations interactions and life for those who live in it. The campaign that was in the works about two years ago had lots of implications for Kitish – not just Kith. The paths each of the characters tread left vibrations through out the Lands. Some very serious consequences for the rest of the continent to contend with.
Probably the worst of these vibrations deals with the primal force of bestial hunger. Also known as the Beast in the most ancient of writings. The barrier that keeps him locked away from the world weakened by the rituals of witches, Hags and those hungering for power. Was the items required to keep him locked away found or lost to these who wished to free their patron? The truth lost in the haziness of the unknown.
The second dealt with the Ark of Volkar, a strange item powered by an onyx elfstone. Why did the high druid of the Free Lands want it? Was he afraid of it or wanted something from it? Only part of that was reportedly found by a halfling scout after being tasked with it’s recovery. Where it is now remains a question others wish to know. Since the halfling in question and his companions seemingly disappeared. Word has it the same high druid searches for them as well, most unhappy with how events are progressing. Some say he is even frantic in his quest to locate them.
What implication does both of these events have in the world? Potentially a lot. This is where decisions on where to go next matter a lot. I’m slowly gearing up to running a game once again. I know where to start it but I need to make sure the important bits are thought out. Some say planned but the best laid plans of mics and men….. Until next time be well.
