Just a Note

Evening,

I've spent a very productive day clearing the decks of crafty projects in preparation for a parcel from the lovely Janice from SirStampalot. I'm helping her out with some samples so it was good to get a few things finished so that I could get the old brain cells working on what she is sending me.

Here are a couple of cards made a while ago for a class on stencils and pastes.
I used the brick wall stencil and some texture paste over the top of some stamped background paper.
The tulips are a layering stamp set from Altenew which also has a co-ordinating die.
Same idea and layout just a different stencil for this card.
Off to bed now, much later than it should be given my early start tomorrow, but it can't be helped.
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Halloween

Hi All,

I don't usually send Halloween cards, but last year the kids were having such a rough time with lockdown that I decided it was the perfect opportunity to cheer them all up, and send some pennies for sweeties.

I had such fun, that I decided that I would do it again this year.
I chose some fabulously colorful images from Polkadoodles.
On this card made for my youngest Grandchildren I added them over a large spiders web with some added sparkle paste.
The background panel uses texture paste and a spiders web stencil from Dutch Doobadoo along with Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Oxide sprays.
I decided on the background panel after being inspired in the Stencils and Pastes class by my friend Jenny.
I made several cards for little people amongst my friends and family
and enclosed a few pennies for them to buy sweeties.
I fussy cut the coloured images,
and added sentiments from a fabulous stamp set from Simon Says Stamp that I have had for a while.
One recipient has a birthday a few days before Halloween, so I turned his card into a birthday card for him.
Thanks for stopping by. Two posts in two day, I wonder how long that will last lol.

A wall hanging for Woodware and the Mirror Crack'd

Hi All
It's my turn to post for Woodware again today and I'm VERY, VERY late.
This week we are taking our inspiration from The Mirror Crack'd a Mixed Media challenge which Woodware occasionally sponsors, and this time round the challenge is 'Wall Hangings'.
Now this really took me out of my comfort zone as I don't think of myself as working with mixed medias, but after a trip through some fabulous clips on You tube, and the arrival of some canvas from Woodware, I took the plunge and started to play.
I'm actually rather pleased with how things turned out.
The central panel has been created using my Creative Palette, acrylic paints, stencils, translucent texture paste and gilding wax.
I also burnished through the Bubbles Doobadoo stencil with some Mixed Media Ink and Glitter Glue.
I hand stitched the canvas onto a frame made from a piece of purple card and white card stencilled with more texture paste and gilding wax.
The flowers have been punched from one of the pieces of 'practice' card before I risked pulling a print using canvas.
I attached them using silicon and added some gilding wax, glitter domes and die cut leaves.
I think that it needs to be put into a box frame when I can find one.
I do hope that you will join us this week. Try challenging yourself to something new, it can be great fun after the initial panic has subsided lol.
I would like to enter this into the challenge at The Mirror Crack'd  - Wall Hanging or Tic Tac Toe.
Have a good evening.
