On Your Wedding Day

Evening,

I had another rather special card to make just before Christmas.

A special card for Andy's brother David and husband on their Wedding Day.
I matched the colours as best as I could to the suits and ties that the boys were all wearing
and the cascading hearts mirrored the wedding invitation that had been sent out.
I added extra silver hearts
and a few flowers, but I don't think it made it too girly.
It's a shame that the photos don't do it justice.
They were married on New Years Eve, and the children all had a fabulous time on the dance floor after the ceremony. They certainly have the moves.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great evening.

A Vintage Wedding

Evening All,

On occasion I get asked by friends to make a special card. This time it was for a Wedding that has finally taken place today, at least I hope that it has :O)

I do love this type of challenge, armed with only a couple of requirements for my task. In this case dusky pink and vintage.
Once again I reached for my large Tonic heart dies and some paper from a 12x12 pad from 'The Works'.
I'm not usually a fan of cheap. It's often the case of 'Buy cheap, pay twice', but in this instance I will make an exception.
Their 12x12 papers are brilliant. Good quality, heavy weight, and very cheap, so I always look out for them whenever I am in 'The Works'. Even if I don't really need them lol.
I used the paper for the smaller internal heart,
and hand made flowers.
I created my own background paper for the base card using several dotty heart dies.
Of course there were several pieces left over after I had finally settled on my finished card, so I made an Anniversary card,
or two!!
Thanks for stopping by, I really do appreciate you.
Happy Crafting, and big hugs

Always and Forever

Evening All,

OMG how can it possibly be March tomorrow? I had another successful day of crafting, and even managed a walk around the park, and then I turned the page on my birthday planner and...............oh boy loads of birthdays in March, several of which require a special card to be made. So guess what I will be doing after work tomorrow lol.

In the mean time here are a couple of the cards that I finished off this weekend using dry embossed card stock.
I have been trying to use up bits and pieces, but one thing leads to another and before you know where you are you have a few more bits that need to be finished off.
I needed some small hearts for a few of the cards using the 3D embossing folders, so having cut them out using this fabulous heart die, I decided that I would use the large hearts up for a couple of cards that could be used for anniversaries that may be coming up.
I've been through my bits box again so I have some pieces ready to be turned into cards tomorrow. I really need to get a stash of cards for 'Little People' ready because they are always the ones that catch me out.
Thanks for stopping by.
Stay safe and hugs

Groovi Hearts

Evening Everyone,
I thought that I would share some Groovi with you tonight. It's not my usual thing but I do enjoy it, although I get very little time to work on it.
The Crafty Girls love it, so we try and fit in a class every 5-6 weeks. They are always very quiet classes as everyone is concentrating so hard. It's always like that with colouring classes as well, you could hear a pin drop lol.
I used a lovely floral heart Groovi plate and Clarity parchment. The design shows up beautifully on the coloured paper.
I created a border around each of the designs using the rectangular borders.
Parchment/vellum is notoriously difficult to attach. I have used a combination of glue hidden under part of the design, Pearl's or Brad's. I also have some sheets of tiny sticky dots which are also very good at sticking down vellum. It is easier to hide with the coloured vellum than it is translucent.
I also used the rectangular dies with the Picot edge to cut the white mattes. Sorry for the rather out of focus picture, I hadn't realized it was like this until it was too late. I will have to retake the photo...... when I remember.
The white work shows up rather nicely with this patterned  parchment.
Thanks for stopping by.
Stay safe and craft.

Vintage Hearts and Love

Evening Everyone,
Have you had a good day full of crafting, I have.
I've managed to catch up on a few of the challenges and prep for my class next weekend, so all is good.
Let's hope that I can stay organised.
This week at Woodware Challenge 83 is Vintage Hearts and Love.
As usual I am very late to the party, maybe I will do better next week.
For my card I have used a fabulous Magenta stamp 37.257Q Retro Romance that I bought when I was in Skipton in August. It is such a fabulous stamp which has embossed beautifully using Versamark ink and Gold Embossing powder.
I trimmed the image and then sponged it with Antique Linen Distress ink. The hearts and flowers are painted using Victorian Velvet Distress ink and the leaves with Bundled Sage.
I also added some Stardust Gelly Roll pen which is very hard to see in this photo.
The gold embossed script  on the left-hand side of the card is actually one of the new Woodware stamps designed by the lovely Jane Gill. I hope that Dorothy doesn't mind me giving you a sneak peek.
I added some 30mm Cream Organza which I heated using my heat gun. It shrivels nicely to give added texture. Make sure that you tie the bow first, it's much easier that way.
Some assorted pearls complete the card.
I would like to enter it into the following challenges
Crazy 4 Challenges - Ribbons and Bows
4 Crafty Chicks - Ribbon and Bows
365 Cards - Be Mine Valentine
Hope you like it.
