Spooky

Evening,

I spent the morning with my Mum and Sister looking through a load of old photos. We did have a laugh (old hair styles mainly) and a reminisce about long forgotton friends and family.

I found several photos from my school days and suggested that I really ought to share them on the school Facebook page to see if anyone remembers our time in the 6th Form. How spooky that when I opened up Facebook this evening an old friend (and my chief bridesmaid) had posted something on that very website!! So that gave me a very tenuous link to tonight's rather spooky card lol.

I gave it to my youngest Granddaughter for her birthday in October.

The spiders web is a rather large die from my stash
I love the leaves that were die cut from handmade papers. I also added a little gilding wax for added texture.
Chloe loves to go for a walk among the leaves so this seemed very appropriate.
I really must post those pictures tomorrow and see if anyone else from school pops up.
Thanks for stopping by.

A Birthday Rose

Evening,

It has been perfect crafting weather today, not that I ever need an excuse to spend the day in the Craft Room lol.

I've been working on some samples for Creative Expressions, which are hush hush for now, so here is a card that I made a while ago using one of Jane Gill's fabulous Halloween stamp sets.
I stamped and embossed the rose onto black cardstock
and then coloured the rose and the spider with Iridescent Watercolour Paint.
I layered the fussy cut image over a piece of background from my stash.
The background was created using a stencil and paste along with some mica sprays.
I also found the die cut sentiment in my bits box, and added it along with a few gems.

Just a Note to Say

Evening,

And another wet one it has been too. I know that we had amazingly dry weather for a long time over the summer, but seriously, do we really need to make up for it now with just as many rainy days!!

I do love stamps, and especially ones that can be used for all sorts of occasions.......with a little adaptation.
The rose on this card is part of a Halloween stamp designed for Woodware by my friend Jane Gill.
I thought that it would be ideal for a note, get well, or even a sympathy card.
I did a bit of fussy cutting to remove the spooky house that formed part of the stamp and layered it over a piece of background from my stash.
This card which I have already blogged HERE shows the stamp used in its entirety.

A Halloween Rose

Evening,

I do love a stamp that you can use for more than one occasion, with a little bit of fussy cutting at least.

This fabulous rose stamp was designed for Halloween by my friend Jane Gill.
I stamped, embossed and coloured it here, and then fussy cut it to remove the spiders web, and hey presto a perfect card to cheer someone up at any time of year.
Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Halloween

Evening,

Long time no see, but it's been a strange few weeks, where things have not exactly gone to plan.

As you know I retired from the BP garage at the beginning of September to move in with my Mum and help her out a little. Well, that turned into 'Help her out a lot' when she fell over and fractured her pelvis.

The best laid plans and all that!! My move where I would be able to sort through things before I went, turned into a 'We've managed to get a van' so let's throw things into whatever bags and boxes we could lay our hands on!!!!!!!

I am still wading through things, and if I'm honest I have hit a bit of sorting brick wall, but at least I have a lovely tidy bedroom/Craft room, so I have finally been able to get back to some crafting which has always been my sanity.

Mum is definitely on the mend, although it is a slow old process at 92. In fact this weekend I managed to get away to my youngest daughters for a much-needed break. A weekend of small children and Trick or Treating, what could be better.

This year Creative Expressions released some fabulous Halloween stamps designed by my friend Jane Gill.
As usual I made samples, only this time I tried my hand at my first ever Scrapbook page.
Becki loves Halloween, and goes all out with decorating the house, so I used some pictures of that for my page.
The background was created with gold embossing powder and various stamped images,
along with some gold mica sprays.
We took loads of pictures again this weekend, so perhaps I will try my hand at another page.........to keep for me this time!!

So that my crafty friends is why I have been missing from blogland for a while.
I am hoping that things will gradually start to get back to normal.. if there is such a thing, and that I will be able to share some cards with you. In the meantime I can only apologize if I have missed your special day, and I will try to do better in the future.

Thanks for sticking with me and stopping by to visit.

Day 8 Creative Expressions Spooktember Challenge - Inky Terror(s)

Evening,

It's Day 8 of the Spooktember Challenge over at Creative Expressions Official Facebook Page, and the prompt is Inky Terror, or in this case Terrors lol.

I love this fabulous floral image from Jane Gill and I teamed it with a picture of a couple of Halloween Terrors, my youngest Granddaughters Emma and Chloe.
I'm not sure that they are very inky,  but they are certainly terrors on occasions.
I used inks to paint the rose, and did a little bit of partial die cutting to create the aperture for my picture.
You can't have Halloween without a spider, and this stamp has a beauty as part of it. I have to say that it is the only way that I cope with spiders......stamped images only lol.
Hope that you will join us for todays challenge.
Thanks for stopping by.

Haunted House At Creative Expressions

Evening,

We have a new challenge over at Creative Expressions Official Face Book Group. It's day 2 of the Spooktember 30 day challenge, and the prompt for today is HAUNTED HOUSE.

Jane has some fabulous new Halloween inspired designs, and once again I was lucky enough to get to play with them
I love this design with the rose and the spooky Haunted House.
It is JGS838 Moon and Rose and I have been a little creative with the original design.

I stamped and embossed it onto white card and then die cut the house and moon part of the stamp with a circular die and placed it onto a handmade background created using a stencil, paste and ink sprays.
I added the floral part of the image, stamped embossed, coloured and fussy cut along with the leaves left over from the original image that I die cut for the house.
I added a second rose image using 3D foam tape for added dimension.
I hope that you have been able to join us today, and share your stunning creations.
Tomorrows prompt is BLOOD RED.

Happy Halloween

Hi All,

I don't usually send Halloween cards, but last year the kids were having such a rough time with lockdown that I decided it was the perfect opportunity to cheer them all up, and send some pennies for sweeties.

I had such fun, that I decided that I would do it again this year.
I chose some fabulously colorful images from Polkadoodles.
On this card made for my youngest Grandchildren I added them over a large spiders web with some added sparkle paste.
The background panel uses texture paste and a spiders web stencil from Dutch Doobadoo along with Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Oxide sprays.
I decided on the background panel after being inspired in the Stencils and Pastes class by my friend Jenny.
I made several cards for little people amongst my friends and family
and enclosed a few pennies for them to buy sweeties.
I fussy cut the coloured images,
and added sentiments from a fabulous stamp set from Simon Says Stamp that I have had for a while.
One recipient has a birthday a few days before Halloween, so I turned his card into a birthday card for him.
Thanks for stopping by. Two posts in two day, I wonder how long that will last lol.
