The Guardian remembered Alan Rickman's death ten years ago today with passionate tributes from many of his friends - even more online than in the G2 newspaper spread.

And that revived my memory of that day, too.

Update: I decided to write to the Guardian and tell them my story - to my surprise, they published it along with memories from people who actually knew him!

Someone on the Guardian really, really, loved Alan Rickman, as much as we did.

Ten years already...this seems impossible. He is and will be remembered - always fondly and with respect.

what a cast! and what a trajectory for Lesley Manville (as far as I can see she's never played Madame de Tourvel...)

A memory of my own - a small convention long ago. There was a debate as to the best fandom.

It was the early days of Harry Potter fandom, but Clare Goodall made her case very simply and won hands down with one sentence.

"We have Alan Rickman!".
