Day 5 of the 2021 Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Good morning! Here we are at Day 5 of the 2021 Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and there is much to see! Today I am #620!!

Today I am using products from several different companies to make this fairly CAS card in my favorite color - PINK! It is going to someone who also loves pink!

I started with the TEA PARTY STENCIL from Visible Image Stamps and my Picked Raspberry DOX inks. I topped it off with a little Kitsch Flamingo to soften the color. Next I cut the coffee cup (Catherine Pooler) and sentiment (Spellbinders) and then matted it with a circle dry embossed with a Cuttlebug EF from AGES ago! I finished the card with a fun sentiment from MFT Stamps. I love combining products! An easily mailable card!

Welcome Baby! Freshly Made Sketches #469

Hello everyone! We have a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and the very talented Kim is our hostess this week!

Yesterday I spent a bit of time die cutting layouts for a team project, and it inspired me to use just dies on my sketch card this week. I have loved these safari animals dies from MFT (Jungle Friends Dienamics - now retired!) and have not had a chance to use them yet. So I pulled them out today (with a sentiment die set I got for free with a purchase) to make a "no stamping" card!

 
Although it's hard to tell in the photo, the #HELLO is a different shade of pink than my sketch strips. I cut the two little ellies from some patterned paper in my stash, and a big fluffy cloud to watch over them. I thought it was a cute and quick new baby card - or a card to send to anyone!

As ou can see, I flipped the sketch so my elephants would be facing each other. I hope you will join our sketch challenge this week, and add your creations to our gallery!

Festive Friday #0074

Happy Friday!

Today there is a new challenge up at Festive Friday! We're celebrating Christmas, and using our fabulous Inspo List #FF0074 to inspire us (below). If you are new to the FF Challenges, you can choose any three items (or more!) from our list to inspire your creativity. Your card does not have to be about Christmas in particular.

I wanted to use the Peace on Earth dies from MFT, and built the rest of my card around the list. I chose holly, stars, peace on earth, red, and green.

My holly and green coordinating papers are from Stampin' Up! I added a few red rhinestones for sparkle.

Freshly Made Sketches #416

It's Wednesday and time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! Our hostess this week is Amy! 

I typed in today's date for my blog post, and was brought up short because Christmas is in a WEEK! Oh my goodness. No, I am not ready. I am not even ready for today! :)
But I am ready for this week's sketch!

We make jokes on the team about who doesn't like circles, and who has a hard time with things like today's wonky panels. It's fun to see what types of shapes and sketches are hard for each of us! I struggled a few weeks ago with a design that was simple for most everyone else, but today's idea came right away! That's always good. Especially when Christmas is in a week! EEK!

I had these new-to-me MFT dies sitting on my table, and when I was thinking up an idea for today's sketch, I knew I wanted to squeeze in another holiday card!

I used some gorgeous Peacock metallic cardstock from CutCardStock for the sentiment strip and background panel, and some beautiful paper from Momenta for the main panel. I cut the dove, branch, and sentiment out of Hammermill White cardstock, and voila! A ten minute card! The gluing of the sentiment took the longest. I used my favorite Connect Glue from Gina K. Designs, LLC.

Love You To Pieces

It's Thursday and that means an awesome new sketch from 

Jen - Deconstructed Sketch 54!

I am really enjoying being a Guest Designer for Jen this summer!

For my card today I chose a set from Unity Stamps that I hadn't yet inked: Love You To Pieces. I think it's so cute! 

I stamped my main images with Riding Hood Red ink and then stamped the background panel behind the circle with Crumb Cake ink. The flower (MFT) was cut from the beautiful Sweet Tooth Merino Wool felt that Stamp School carries.

I sewed around the edges of each panel and added some twine (PTI) to complete the sketch.

My colors are from Color Throwdown 194. I love this color combo, and although I had to substitute the RHR for the Poppy Parade, I still have a few pieces of Soft Sky left! It was one of my favorite colors! I am hoping that Pool Party is similar (although that one is retired today too!).

The Deconstructed Sketch girls have some terrific samples to show, so be sure to have a visit at their blogs too!

The Artist in All of Us

May is flying by - just like the rest of spring! I love seeing all the different blooming flowers in the neighborhood and around town. If you want to see some beautiful flowers, head over to the IBFS Challenge blog where we have a fun FLORAL challenge for you!

I went in a little different direction from the rest of the team, and created a whimsical card - still has florals!

I used Happy Hannah Painting for my images. I stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink on Neenah Solar White and then embossed with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder. I colored in with Copics, added a strip of crazy Basic Grey DP, a rolled flower, some buttons, and a sticker that says "Create."
I love to create!

Hello Friend

I have gotten some really fun stamping happy mail this week, and today I am showing a little bit of it. I got this  beautiful paper from October Afternoon's Sidewalks Collection from one of those steal sites (I subscribe to a few and now I can't remember which one it was) and it fit fairly well with the colors for this week's Color Throwdown 189 Challenge. I didn't have Cherry Cobbler (gotta order that!), so I subbed in a red.

The images are from the VIP Sweet Safari Collection I got from My Favorite Things this week, and this set is just darling. I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored in using Copic markers. I followed Deconstructed Sketch 49.

My amazing friend, Holly, is the SCS Queen for the Day this week, and I also made this card based on her You Make My Heart Spin.  I kept the red stripes, and a girl as the main image, and then changed a few other things. :)

In other stamping news, I am pleased to be returning to the I Brake For Stamps Design Team for the summer. Look for an IBFS post here each Thursday,  beginning May 3.

And now, finally, my recipe for my Bruschetta Dip I am making for the picnic this weekend (see yesterday's post):

Hot Bruschetta Dip

Ingredients

• 2 roma (plum) tomatoes, chopped
• 1 small onion, chopped
• 1 clove garlic, peeled and minced
• 1 teaspoon chopped fresh basil
• 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
• 1/4 cup olive oil
• 1 (8 ounce) wheel Brie cheese
  1. In a small bowl, mix roma (plum) tomatoes, onion, garlic, basil, parsley and olive oil. Cover and chill in the refrigerator at least 1 hour.
  2. Remove top layer of rind from brie. Place brie in a small microwave safe serving dish. Microwave on high 1 minute, or until the cheese begins to soften. Spoon roma tomato mixture over the cheese. Microwave on high 1 minute, or until slightly melted. Serve immediately with Paris toasts or other dried breads.

Just Hangin' Out!

This week I have been just hangin' out in Arizona (where I grew up) with my sister. We have had a ton of fun - shopping, eating at great restaurants, doing nothing and stamping! The week has gone by so quickly. I can't believe I have to go home (and back to reality!) tomorrow. So here is a fun card for what I have been doing this week!

Make a Scene!

I suppose you can take that two ways! But the kind I mean is the kind Michelle is so fabulous at making. AKA JustPaintingAround at SCS, Michelle was chosen as today's Featured Stamper! Check out her gallery, as she has a really cool style!

I chose this fun card of Michelle's to case. Mine is a bit different, but I do like how it turned out.
(With a giraffe, how could I not? LOL)


I changed a few of the images, the layout a bit, added giraffe twill trim at the top. The tree I had on my desk already from Friday, and it looks similar to the acacia trees that giraffes love. The wind is picking up in the Savannah, as I tried to show with a double sponged edge below the tree.

I made him for today's Featured Stamper Challenge. Sweet Miss Daisy (AKA Anna Wight) was the FS, and I chose this card to case.

This little elephant is from a set by My Favorite Things. It's a cute set and has lots of possibilities!! And a giraffe!! More with him this week!
