James Senior

James Senior is studying for an MBA with Singapore Business School and already holds a doctorate in social sciences from the Open University, awarded in 2023.

Mr Senior’s thesis from his doctoral studies, which looked at the effectiveness of policing interventions to combat stalkers, has been published online. In this thesis, a sequential exploratory design is deployed to examine 178 non-domestic stalking investigations that took place between 2018 and 2019. The impact of subsequent interventions was then analysed by Mr Senior for 18 months to discover whether the stalking stopped. Behaviours and characteristics of the stalker in each case were assessed to determine whether each stalker was unique (in terms of intervention impact) or whether all stalkers reacted to specific interventions in the same way.

The distance learning MBA programme that Mr Senior is currently studying offers an international orientation to perfectly position participants for the global job market. The course aims to broaden students’ knowledge of business management and leadership via practice-oriented and academic modules, with plenty of opportunities for participants to work on their soft skills, such as communication and intercultural awareness.

Mr Senior has also successfully completed an advanced negotiation skills course at Harvard University, which sims to develop sophisticated negotiation skills that will create value for every party at the bargaining table. The programme offers a learning experience that is fast paced and includes analysis of business cases, negotiation exercises and a discussion of the challenges that may be faced at the bargaining table.
