Pull the Other One; It's Got Bells On It
Sep. 15th, 2010 07:15 pmSo I got an email today from Mitch Stewart, the Director of Organizing for America -- that's what little is left of Obama for America (OfA), Obama's grassroots organization. After he used OfA to win the Presidential election, he apparently lost interest in the bottom-up, transparent, listening to his supporters part of OfA, because shortly after the election, OfA was folded into the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and became the standard, we'll-call-on-you, don't-call-us political organization that it is today. So that sucked.
Even worse, they've started BLATANTLY lying in the email they send.
To wit:
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Yeah, Obama stripped the special interests of all their power. That's why he invited the Right Rev. Gene Robinson to speak the invocation at his inauguration. That's why all the too-big-to-fail banks have been broken up into smaller pieces. That's why he declined to defend DOMA in federal court and why DADT was repealed last year. That's why the insurance companies' stocks all dropped through the floor when he passed Medicare for all. And why Elizabeth Warren is head of the Consumer Protection Agency.
Riiiiiight!
Hmmm. Actually, that sounds like a halfway decent AU RPF (Real Politician Fic). I'd write it if it wouldn't depress me so much.

The special interests in Washington are not happy, and it's because of something you did.
Since President Obama moved into the White House, this movement has stripped them of their influence, proving we could take on the lobbyists and corporate cash with good, old-fashioned organizing.
