InSilicoTrials is excited to announce a collaboration with Microsoft to integrate MOL2CLIN into Microsoft Discovery. Cancer drug development begins with thousands of molecules. Only a few ever reach patients. Too often, important questions are answered late, after time, resources and patient risk have already been committed. 𝗠𝗢𝗟𝟮𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗡 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁. Integrated into Microsoft Discovery, an enterprise agentic R&D platform, MOL2CLIN brings mechanistic, patient-level simulation into AI-driven discovery workflows. This helps oncology teams evaluate pharmacokinetics, target engagement, tumor response, safety signals, and virtual clinical outcomes earlier in development. For patients, earlier evidence matters. It can help teams make more informed decisions, design better studies, reduce unnecessary risk, and move the most promising therapies forward with greater confidence. Oncology is an important starting point, and this approach will support better decisions across additional therapeutic areas. The future of drug development should be more predictive, more efficient, and more centered on patients. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱. Cardiac toxicity is one of the leading reasons drugs fail in development, often too late, and at enormous cost. What if we could predict that risk much earlier, using in vitro data alone? Our new paper in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences MDPI presents a framework that combines target affinity, drug exposure, and plasma protein binding to flag cardiovascular risk before animal studies even begin. Applied to a curated dataset of 𝟭,𝟯𝟭𝟴 𝗱𝗿𝘂𝗴𝘀, we identified 18 pharmacological target classes associated with elevated cardiac risk. The signal is striking: 80% of the highest-concern drugs linked to these targets, versus only 12% of drugs with no concern. Thank you to our partners at The Jackson Laboratory for their essential contribution to this work. May is ALS Awareness Month. 💙 ALS is a devastating disease, progressive, relentless, and still without a cure. Clinical trials are one of our best tools to change that. But running them in ALS is hard: patients are few, the disease progresses fast, and asking someone to receive a placebo for months carries a real human cost. At InSilicoTrials, we believe technology can help. This June, we'll be presenting our work at 𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗱, the leading European conference dedicated to curing ALS. Our poster "𝗔𝘂𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗟𝗦 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀: 𝗔 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸" showcases how 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘰 models can create virtual placebo patients, reducing the number of real patients exposed to placebo in clinical trials, without compromising scientific rigor. We applied this approach to the 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗦 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆, a real clinical trial evaluating a new treatment for ALS. Our head of AI & Statistics, Paolo Messina, will be presenting our work in Madrid: 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟰 | 𝟭𝟳:𝟮𝟬–𝟭𝟵:𝟬𝟬 📍 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮 We hope to see you there. Less placebo. Better science. More hope for patients. #ALSAwarenessMonth #ALS #InSilicoTrials #ClinicalTrials #DrugDevelopment #ENCALS
