I finally have to admit[1] that I no longer find Callum Keith Rennie[2] particularly hot[3].

[1] To my flist. I admitted it to myself quite some time ago. Although

blnchflr teased it out of me a while back.

[2] Young(er) CKR still rings my chimes, although not as much as he used to. But wow, does he ever show his age.

[3] Wow, I sure had an enormous crush on him. I kind of miss being that gaga over someone. (I am currently crushing on Sean Bean, but not with nearly that intensity.)

The first time was Snape. OMG that was amazing. I never thought I could either 1) fall out of crush-dom, or 2) crush on anyone else like that, but I was wrong on both counts.

I can't actually remember right now just how hard I crushed on Snape - obviously I did, I mean, who in HP fandom didn't? But I think AR being too old and too saggy for the role actually helped kill my Snape love, too. (As did Rowling, of course.)

In early movies he didn't look too old. Later ones, he went from GUH to GAH. :-) I think my Snape love was sustained by the amazing fanart the fandom artists created.

You know... I don't think I'd mind at all if you came up with a way to smush together characters those two have played. That might be a lot of mature, morally ambiguous pretty.

Not only do I not find CKR that attractive now, I despise the roles he chooses, such as in the second X-Files movie. That role in that movie pretty much turned off any remaining fanlust I had in his current direction. (Yes, the due South-era CKR is still cute, but no more.) He has pretty good bones, so I hope he will become interesting in the future, and also hope his taste in roles will improve.

I didn't see that movie, but I think it is a given that he is always either the scumbag or the serial killer (or both). (With his role in Wilby Wonderful the one shining exception.)

He wasn't either one in 'Last Night', when he was the geeky guy who finally got laid on the last night of the world. So he can do other things.

I saw Last Night years ago on a bus, when I didn't know any of the actors. I didn't read his character as "the geeky guy who finally got laid" at all - more like icky sexist guy O_O

He was kind of skeevy, I thought - wanted to spend the Last Night having as many different kinds of sex as he could. But he was sweet to the virgin!

He was pretty decent in The Invisible, too. So yeah, he can do other things. It's just the combined weight of all his other roles where he is unsympathetic at best (e.g. Falling Angels) or a total sleaze (e.g. Suspicious River) does his image in.

Yeah, I think I'm with you. I find him cute in older stuff, but recently... I just don't think he's aged very well. Whereas Paul Gross is apparently someone I prefer wearing some years and some crazy.

I find Paul Gross tremendously handsome but not particularly sexy. I am not sure why. He just doesn't have the type of rugged look that gets me right here, and by right here I mean between my legs.

CKR has not aged well. Alas.

CKR hasn't aged well at all. And he's apparently really skeevy on Facebook, or so I am reliably informed. So I'm with you--I appreciate the eye candy of young CKR, but these days? Pass.

Yeah, my crushes have consistently been 20-30 years older than me for as long as I can recall, but CKR ... erm, "decrepit" is a good word.
