Explore SERP API ↗IP Info uses the same IP intelligence data source as Shifter. Send a request to /json through your proxy to inspect its exit, or pass an IP to check its country, city, ISP and ASN. It’s a simple way to validate your setup using familiar data.
Select the location or network in your Shifter proxy configuration.
Request IP Info through the proxy and read the returned IP data.
Compare the reported country and ASN with your intended target.
IP Info is free to use, whether or not you’re a Shifter customer. Shifter’s proxy and data API products have their own plans.

Yes. IP Info is free to use, with no signup, API key or subscription. Shifter maintains and supports the service. There is no application quota; service capacity and acceptable-use terms still apply.
Public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses. Results include location, country, city, ISP, ASN, organization and network classifications where the database has them. Missing attributes are returned as null.
Yes. Use /json_lite for compact JSON containing only country_code, region, city and timezone. Add ?ip=ADDRESS to look up a supplied public IPv4 or IPv6 address. All four keys are always present, with null for unavailable values.
Make a request to /json through your proxy. It returns the IP seen by our service, which should be the proxy exit. You can also supply a known exit IP with /json?ip=ADDRESS. See the proxy example in the documentation.
Yes. Both protocols support the same API routes, with no forced HTTP redirect. HTTPS protects the connection. HTTP avoids a TLS handshake, but is not necessarily faster on reused connections.
Geolocation is approximate, not a street address or a person’s live location. Data may be incomplete or outdated.
Yes. No authentication flow is needed. An agent can read our OpenAPI schema and llms.txt. A call to /json identifies the agent’s network exit; to check a human user’s IP, the agent must supply that IP explicitly.
This service uses the same IP location and network data source as Shifter. Independently running systems may return different results.
No. ASN, ISP, connection type and anycast are database attributes. They should not be treated as proof that an IP is a VPN, proxy or residential connection.
