Just Add Ink # 712 – Sketch Challenge!

The past week or so has been really Wintery here – lots of rain showers and coldness. You would think it is perfect weather for crafting – but actually I have not felt very motivated at all.

So when it came to creating a card for this week’s Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge – I enlisted a couple of friends to help me through the process.

We had the sketch to start with and then started looking at the Thoughtful Journey DSP. It’s such lovely paper with pretty colours.

I chose a couple of pieces of DSP and cut some strips to match the Sketch and then placed them on a base card…..then I said to the ladies, what if I made the panels slightly different widths.

Back to the drawing board to choose another piece of DSP and cut some more strips.

Then the ladies helped me to decide on what to do with the rest of the card. Some suggested embossing, some suggested pierced dies but in the end I went with a plain layered panel.

I then tried sentiments in different colours and background leaves in different colours too. After mixing and matching a couple of things I settled on the final card and finished putting it all together.

Just Add Ink # 710 – “Party Fun”!

Party Fun is the Theme of this week’s Just Add Ink Challenge.

The Winter cold season is here at the moment, so I have not been feeling much like Party Fun.

But then a cardboard box, full of Stamping fun arrived on my doorstep – Yay, that perked me up!!

Inside the box of Stampin Up goodies, was the Full Of Life 6 x 6 DSP.
It’s Bright, it’s Colourful and it’s Bold……so a perfect start to my Party Fun card.

I used a couple of the sayings from the Saying Something Ephemera Pack and some random stamps that I had sitting on the desk to create my card.

Funky Folds – July

Today, I am joining the July Funky Folds Blog Hop.

We are a group of like-minded paper crafters who love to make cards with funky folds. Funky actually means “modern and stylish in an unconventional or striking way”… so we are featuring cards that are not your usual rectangle/square portrait or landscape style. Think ‘easel’, ‘pop-up’, ‘gatefold’, ‘z-fold’, ‘shaped’ or 3D cards etc. The list is endless.

All of the Funky Folds Blog Hops have an ‘anything goes’ theme using any type of ‘funky’ card fold.

For my Funky Fold card this month, I made Hexigon Box Cards.

I used the Bee My Valentine stamp set to make this card. The Bee’s look very Happy and Busy.

I have made several of these – I like the wow factor that they have. They fold down nicely so that you can put them in the post too.

The Happy Birthday Man card above was made using a couple of Suites including Legendary Ride.

Pretty sure I’ll be making a few more soon too – Perhaps a Christmas one?

The Sunflowers from Celebrate Sunflowers is always bright and bold.

Up next is Cathy Pinchbeck . I can’t wait to see what Cathy has made for our Funky Folds Blog Hop. I hope you enjoy Hopping around all of the Funky Fold Blogs.
