🚨 ONGC’s Venezuela oil play is in focus. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) plans to invest around $200 million to revive production at the San Cristobal oilfield, where output has fallen to 4,000–5,000 barrels per day from a previous peak of 45,000–50,000 bpd. 📈 ONGC Videsh has secured a US licence to operate the field and is close to finalising an investment plan with Venezuela’s PDVSA. ONGC holds 40% in San Cristobal, while PDVSA holds 60%. 💰 Once production is revived, ONGC also aims to recover more than $500 million in oilfield dividends stuck in Venezuela for years.
