7 years at Everest Group! Looking back, I wanted to write down my thoughts on what I have enjoyed about the last seven years. 1. The opportunity to be in the room - There is something about solving a real problem with a client that I have never stopped enjoying. You start with a question. You listen. You challenge an assumption. Someone challenges yours. You go a few layers deeper. Slowly, the problem becomes clearer. Over the years, I had the opportunity to do this with some incredibly experienced leaders and clients. Those rooms felt intimidating early in my career. Looking back, I now realise how much of my learning happened simply because I was allowed to be in them 2. Staying curious - Curiosity has always been part of my personality, so I was lucky to find a profession where asking one more question is usually a good thing. When I started, we were trying to understand what RPA could change. Then digital & analytics became part of the conversation. Today it's about AI. Every few years, the questions change. The job is to stay curious enough to change with them 3. The privilege of not being the smartest in the room - Beyond the work itself, what I have valued most here is the people. This is a genuinely smart group. Someone will find the hole in your argument before you have finished making it. This one took me longer to appreciate. Over time, I have become much more comfortable saying, “I don’t know.” There is one more part of the journey that has become increasingly important to me - mentoring. I have enjoyed mentoring people since I was a kid. Getting to do that here, watching someone work through a hard decision and come out clearer on the other side, has been one of the real privileges of these seven years. The recognitions and milestones along the way have been special, sharing a few of them with this post. Yet, when I think about seven years at Everest Group, I find myself thinking much more about the people and the rooms behind them. Shirley and Vignesh - A lot of what I know about this job was picked up by watching how you two do it. Thanks for your support and mentorship. There are far too many people who have been part of these seven years for me to tag everyone here. Colleagues, mentors, clients, and team members - I am grateful to each one of you during this journey. I am excited about what comes next. More difficult problems to solve, more people to learn from, and more opportunities to help others grow! I want to be more deliberate about the last part - two commitments from my end: 1. I am setting aside time to mentor 5-7 people this quarter. It could be either a CV review or simply a conversation about your career. Please feel free to reach out through DM 2. But once I changed what was on my plate,  everything else picked back up and started working again. Medicine treats what's already gone wrong. Food decides whether it goes wrong in the first place.
