Sometimes, a change of place can change the conversation! That’s exactly how we started our #Q1_Leadership_Connect at Samtel Avionics. We stepped away from the office, brought all our HODs together, and began with one simple question: “If you had to describe Q1 in one word, what would it be?” And the answers were quite interesting… Transformation. Stability. Exploration. Exposure. And then someone summed it up in one word “#Overwhelming.” That one stood out for me & I fully relate to it - Not because of the challenges, but because the scale and pace of growth we are witnessing across functions has been truly exponential. The session wasn't the usual “here’s what we achieved” conversation. People spoke about what worked, what didn’t, where they got stuck, what they figured out, and what still needs fixing. And sitting there as someone still relatively new to the system, I realised I was learning much more than just the business. I was observing how different leaders think. How they tell a story. How they handle a difficult question. How they talk about something that didn’t go well. How they simplify a complicated problem. Even the presentations became a little learning exercise - different styles, different ways of putting a story together, different ways of making a point. Maybe that’s what I liked most about the room. Nobody had to pretend that everything was perfect. There was enough comfort to say, “This isn’t working,” and enough curiosity to ask, “How are you solving it?” For me, that’s a big part of learning an organisation - Not just understanding its policies or processes, but sitting with its people, listening, observing, and slowly understanding how the organisation thinks. Perhaps the biggest takeaway for me was that an organisation is best understood through its people. The processes, numbers and presentations tell only part of the story. The conversations in between tell you a lot more. And I’m grateful to be in a place where those conversations can happen openly. #Leadership #Learning #PeopleAndCulture #LeadershipConnect #LifeatSamtel

  • A strong and self-reliant defence ecosystem is built through close collaboration between the armed forces and industry - an objective that was at the heart of SANKALP, the IAF–SIDM Industry Interactive Workshop held on 30 July at the IAF Auditorium, New Delhi. As part of the workshop, Samtel Avionics showcased a selection of defence products highlighting our repair, maintenance and lifecycle-support capabilities. Our booth was visited by Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, Vice Chief of the Air Staff, and Air Marshal Sanjiv Ghuratia, Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance. Taking the conversation forward, Rajesh Narang, CEO - Samtel HAL Display Systems, and Head - Business Development, shared the industry perspective on electronic components and the sustainment of display, surveillance and communication equipment. The session, moderated by Air Marshal Anil Chopra, PVSM, AVSM, VM, VSM (Retd.), Strategic Advisor – Aerospace, SIDM, brought valuable insights into the role of industry in supporting critical defence equipment. Through the exhibition and industry discussions, the event provided an important platform for engagement between the Indian Air Force and industry, with a shared focus on strengthening indigenous capabilities for the repair, maintenance and long-term support of critical defence equipment. I had the pleasure of meeting Pierre Éric Pommellet, Chairman & CEO of NAVAL GROUP, and as always, our conversation reminded me why I value this relationship so deeply. I have known Pierre Eric since the early days of our joint venture with Thales, when indigenisation was not yet the buzzword it is today. Back then, it was simply a difficult, long term commitment embraced by a handful of people who believed India could build world class capabilities. Samtel and Naval Group operate in different segments of defence, avionics and naval systems, but we have always shared the same conviction: India's defence capabilities must be built in India, by Indian talent, alongside partners committed for the long term. What I take away from meetings like these is a reminder that trust is built over years, through shared experiences and mutual respect. And when that trust endures, the relationship evolves beyond companies. It becomes a friendship between people who happen to lead them. Thank you, Pierre Eric, for your time, your friendship, and your continued belief in building strong partnerships with Indian defence companies while creating opportunities together in global markets. I look forward to the many milestones that still lie ahead. Samtel Avionics

Engaged in meaningful conversations at the Confederation of Indian Industry Indian Women Network (IWN) Northern Region Annual Session 2026 in New Delhi. Spoke about how true economic progress demands that we pivot from merely creating opportunities to building institutional ecosystems that foster leadership, mentorship, entrepreneurship, and collaborative networks. Equally important is removing the barriers that prevent women from achieving their full potential. In an era defined by AI and rapid technological change, women's leadership across business, academia, governance, and civil society will be critical to driving inclusive growth.

My son Atharv and his Dadu have been building something together. That initiative now has a name. The Anugrah Skilling Foundation. The thinking behind it is clear. Skills should reach the people who need them most, and the earlier you start, the further they go. There is something quietly moving about watching your son take an initiative this seriously at his age, and choose to build it with his grandfather rather than on his own. It is a long road ahead. Labs, schools, communities, all of it grows slowly. But the best things usually do. If you would like to follow their journey, you will find them here: anugrahskillingfoundation https://lnkd.in/gZiUpyU7

𝗜 𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀. 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱. I met Shri Manoj Jain, Chairman of Bharat Electronics Limited, earlier this week. It was a meeting I had been looking forward to for a while. We sat down to talk about how Samtel and BEL might work more closely on the defence and aerospace programmes coming up. What I expected to be a broad, get-to-know-each-other conversation turned specific quite fast. That is the part I appreciated most. We did not spend the time on intentions and pleasantries. We got into the actual places where our two companies can lean on each other and do something useful for India's indigenous defence effort. The thinking is simple. BEL has spent decades building real depth in defence electronics. We bring avionics and display systems that fit right next to that work. Put the two together and you see things neither of us manages quite as well on our own. My thanks to Shri Manoj Jain for the clarity and the warmth he brought to the room. The conversation, though, was the easy bit. The harder part starts now: turning all of it into programmes, timelines, and systems that actually make it onto the platforms they are meant for.
