Russia – Die Neue Homophobie Land

This article was sent to me today by The Advocate and now I am sharing it with you all. My feelings towards what’s been going on in Russia and especially it’s president Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov Vissarionovich Schickelgruber Putin are well known and documented in this blog. Yet, no matter how much I write, no matter how much I accuse this president and this countries parliament, I cannot for the life of me keep up with new news coming out of “Die Neue Homophobie Land”, below is the latest, I believe my words are meaningless as facts speak for themselves

Russia Raids Gay People’s Homes

Nikolai AlexeyevThe Russian government‘s new law condemning so-called gay propaganda has now encouraged people to report their LGBT neighbors to local authorities.

A notice allegedly from the government says any person who suspects that a neighbor or tenant disseminates “homosexual propaganda” should contact the police immediately, Gay Star News and O-Blog-Dee-O-Blog-Da report.

“Increase your vigilance when you talk to your neighbors, when you are checking your mail and in elevators,” the notice says, according to a translation. “You can easily become a target of homosexual propaganda. There is one step from being homosexual and to start propaganda of homosexualism and molesting decent people.”

Russian prosecutors reportedly raided the home of activist and lawyer Nikolai Alexeyev. According to Reuters, officials ransacked Alexeyev’s home and removed several pieces of electronic equipment.

“Do you think this is all legal?” Alexeyev said to reporters inside his apartment after the raid. “What if they now start raiding flats every day, for instance?

The raid was spurred by a Russian parliament member who lodged a complaint against Alexeyev.

The Reuters report on the raid below:

Russia, Wentworth Miller and I

I’ve never been the kind of person to pursue actors and performers to come out at any cost in order to win more support for the LGBT community. I believe as much good as it would do to have known faces of television, music and sports come out, so am I a strong believer of individual rights of each and every one of said people to decide when and how they will take such a step. I know that even though much has changed in these industries, there’s still a lot of stigma when it comes to someone coming out. What I’ve noticed before is that when an actor comes out he almost immediately ends up playing “gay roles” or just vanishes for a long-long time.wentworth-miller-383654

Now turning back to my main topic which Russia and of course my absolutely favorite character of Russian politics Vladimir Putin. I have been troubled by what has been going on in Russia ever since a law was passed which made it illegal to even say the word gay, that incriminates parents or even school teachers to teach about homosexuality, which leaves the door opened for the atrocities that have captured the medias’ attention   perpetrated against the LGBT community in Russia. One such abhorring horror story that totally shook me was that of a young man Vladislav Tornovoi (23) who was with a group of friends drinking and celebrating Victoria Day (the end of WWII) was asked by one of his friends if he were gay to which he admitted he was. Subsequently he was attacked, beaten, raped by having his anus cut and beer bottles stuffed in his rectum and to finish him off they bashed his head by hitting him on the head with a 20 kg (44 pound) and than tried to set him on fire. There’s also the video of the 15 year old boy, who after going to a park thinking he was going to meet a man, is approached by a group of teenagers and harassed and pissed on. 945160_606628346044639_668297239_n1 Continue reading

Please Sign this Petition – Help Us Stop This Madness

Stop Vladimir Putin and his Nazi-like government continuing violation of human rights and discrimination against the LGBT Community in Russia

Polina sent this message to All Out members yesterday, as Russia passed a new law that makes it illegal to even say the word “gay”. Dozens of people protesting against the law were dragged away and arrested by police.

Polina speaks on behalf of “Coming Out”, a big Russian gay support organisation facing a trial to fight closure. Their trial has just been postponed to next week.

Please help us get to 100,000 signatures before the new trial date. Sign now:

Gay hate and violence increasing in Russia as government cracks down on gay rights organisations. Sign the petition before Coming Out faces trial starting tomorrow:

Crisis in Russia: two brutal murders for being gay within weeks. One man was stabbed to death by neighbours, and a younger man was beaten to death with rocks after coming out.

The rise in attacks is happening as President Putin wages war on gays and lesbians. His government has banned Pride marches and is trying to bring in a new anti-gay law. And tomorrow, a major Russian gay organisation will go on trial to fight closure.

Putin is getting away with the crackdown because there’s little international media attention and no real pressure from other world leaders.

But if we start with a massive petition, we can work to get the crisis on the to do list of every world leaderand onto the front pages of newspapers.

Can you sign before the trial starts tomorrow?

Putin has shown he’s sensitive to international pressure about his treatment of gay and lesbians. When he visited the Netherlands recently, he was greeted by a big protest and media coverage.

He was later forced to claim publicly that he doesn’t support discrimination. Russian human rights workers told the All Out office team that this led directly to their finally being given a meeting with the Ombudsman for Human Rights – a big boost to their work.

President Putin thinks gays and lesbians are an easy target to help him crackdown on human rights and democracy, in his quest to hold on to power. He sees them as a tiny minority who can’t fight back.

But what if instead of facing only the handful of people in Russia brave enough to stand up to terrifying violence and state power, he faced a movement of millions of us?

We’ve spoken up together about Russia before, but All Out has grown fast in the last two years. There are now 1.6 million of us in every country in the world – and there’s nothing we can’t do together for love.

Thanks for going All Out,

Andre, Guillaume, Marie, Hayley, Jeremy, Sara, Tile, Wesley and the rest of the All Out team.

PS: There’s so much we could do if we grew the biggest petition the world has ever seen against the crackdown in Russia. Deliver it to embassies in every country. Use it get journalists to write high-profile features criticising Putin. Use it as a rallying point for protests whenever Russian officials visit other countries. Russian Treasures by Max Orlov

Russian history has always captivated me. That is why I have tried to read  and watch anything that was ever written and made regarding this country. Considering the close ties our countries once had, and our geopolitical history through the ages, it’s only normal to be fascinated by such a large and absolute diverse empire. Needless to say, Russian men hold a very special place in my heart, as both sexy and mysterious. Captivating. Thanks to photographer Max Orlov, I’m able to present to you some rare specimen of Russian beauty and I hope you enjoy it as much I as do…

Vladimir Putin / If I could Turn Back Time

I received an e-mail today form AllOut.org regarding the latest LGBT news from Russia and the passing of Putin’s courts formally banning Pride marches for 100 years in Moscow. At the same time the anti-gay activists are using the government’s gay gag laws to sue Madonna for $10,000,000 in “moral damages” because she spoke up for gay Russians in a concert this week.

A few weeks back I posted an article in regards to human rights violations in Ukraine which you can read HERE. Before that I also posted an article regarding the notorious “propaganda” law, passed in St. Petersburg, to silence any reading, writing, speech or debate on anything “gay” – which the governor gladly signed it in to law, which you can read about here .

Russia under Vladimir Putin seems to try its best at turning back the clocks on human rights be those for the LGBT community or the country as a whole. It is no surprise an individual like Mr. Putin, whose hunger for absolute power is only surpassed by his thirst to crush everything which undermines his ideals of how a society should be run with the old KGB ghost of Christmas past hanging on his shoulders, to go to such great lengths at silencing and using the law against his own people. Despotism is a severe illness in Russia, it has been for centuries, but at times like this and in the 21st century not only this move seems like an episode of The Twilight Zone, but also is living proof of the arrogance of one individual with millions of minions and absolute lack of any human attributes necessary to be e a leader.

When the “propaganda” Law was passed in St. Petersburg not long ago, no one thought it would ever be implemented, yet, from sources within Russia, there have been at least 75 arrests made in accordance with this law. It does not stop there though; the latest stint against Madonna for speaking out during a concert was just the beginning of the crackdown on human rights. I also learned that the famous Russian punk band Pussy Riot has been sentenced to two years in prison for speaking against the government, hooliganism and “gay propaganda”.

When Putin meets with world leaders at the UN he should face the full wrath and condemnation of all countries who have signed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to which even Mr. Putin must adhere. If we continue to allow these sort of aberrations of the law being passed across Russia and allow one individual to use courts as his own private arena to put on a show of strength and contempt for human rights, we will soon see the same kind of laws being passed in other “satellite” countries of the old corpse referred to as the Eastern Block. Even though the same kind of law was shelved in Ukraine for the time being, we are seeing surge of laws against human rights being proposed in Hungary, Moldova and Lithuania.

I urge all of you to sign the petition below, to go on line and see for yourself the pictures of those being beaten and arrested for speaking out. The worse thing one can do is to stay silent. It is easy to do so when something like this is happening thousands of miles away from you, but remember one thing, it is the same way of thinking that has brought dictators to power. It is your silent attitude which allows those who you vote to represent you to pass laws against your universal right as a human being.

After signing the petition, Mr. Putin received a personal note from me today with just one phrase in it;

Dear Mr. Putin

  • All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. (Universal Declaration of Human Rights)

Thank you for your time and please sign the petition at AllOut.org

Beautiful Men – Yuri a Russian Treasure

I’ve always had a fascination with Russia, its history and its people. I’ve read and watched a lot about Russian history and that’s why Alexander Palace Time Machine is one of my favorite websites. Looking at Yuri, one cannot help but wonder about russian men and how they may be compare to others considering such a vast, diverse and cold country. They say northern countries are not just colder as far as environment, but also people tend to be less affectionate, distant and cold themselves. It’s probably a myth which I’m hoping to disprove someday. Enjoy…

ONE WEEK TO STOP ANTI-GAY CENSORSHIP IN RUSSIA!

Please follow the link and sign the petition, it’s the right thing to do for all. Once you ban a specific subject for even being talked, you can later on ban other subjects, and soon enough, your freedom of speech anywhere in the world will be threatened. DO NOT BE FOOLED

Lucianus Mauricius

 www.allout.org/stpetersburg-dont-go

February 20, 2012. In just one week the city of Saint Petersburg could pass an outrageous bill that will make it a crime to read, write, speak or meet to discuss anything considered “Gay”.

St. Petersburg is one of Russia’s number one tourist destinations. That’s why an international storm of bad publicity will force the Governor to think twice about the cost of signing this bill.

We have less than a week to act: tell the Governor of St. Petersburg that a city that muzzles artists, writers, musicians, citizens and visitors isn’t a city you plan to visit.

Conservatives in St. Petersburg intent on passing this “gay gag rule” believe they can casually dismiss calls from world leaders – and even the country’s own international treaty obligations respecting freedom of expression. But at the same time, Russian leaders recently announced that they want to invest $11 billion dollars to build their international reputation and attract tourists from around the world. St. Petersburg, Russia‘s cosmopolitan “window to the west” is key to that strategy.

But they can’t have it both ways – a thriving tourist economy can’t coexist with a new law that will muzzle artists, writers, musicians and regular citizens who live in – or visit – the city.
